Shumate just pinned Salazar!! I think Rex was right about Shumate showing improvement over the last two months. In the Big Tens he wrestled Buchanan tough all the way to the final 30 seconds of the match.

Really hoping Shumate goes on a run like I hoped for in the bracket thread. Bullock is athletic, they had a similarly close match in the dual, i think.

The lack of being able to follow the time on ESPNU sucked.
Carson looked like a world beater for most of the regular season. Hope he can come back but wrestling Pinto in first round consolation is rough.
A lot of first round jitters and wrestling below capacity, Caleb Smith, Lucas Byrd, Ridge Lovett.
Someone is coming back from that first round consolation and is going to place. Now is your time as a coach to convince your guy that it is him.
Wrestling tests you in ways that you don't even think possible. You have to develop a strong mindset with resilience exponentially.
And as always, this tournament is awesome. Collegiate wrestling should be our national sport. Out with feels and in with strength, objectivity and resilience.
