Did anyone see his match? I see he lost a tough one 3-2.
Any comments or analysis is appreciated.

Nobody ever gets called for traveling in the NBA, especially not penetration players (the superstars Wade, Bryant, James-- it's why I have a certain distaste for basketball and the NBA especially).

Yea, the game has devolved into just a series of one-on-one matchups. It just isn't very pretty to watch anymore. Everything is an attempt at a dunk, or a three.

What are the most interesting match-ups this evening.
Any drama we the common folk should know about?
Thanks for the updates and insights.

Biggest semifinals in DI tonight
- Both the 140 lb semifinals will be very interesting. Messerall (Worthington) takes on Spicel (Brunswick and Lang (Brecksville) does battle with Sheppard (Kenmore) for the fifth time this year they are 2-2 against each other this year.
- Both the 130 lb semifinals. Fields (Lakota West) vs. Squire (Wadsworth) in a rematch of last year's state finals bout at 119 which Squire won in OT 2-0. Horner (Massillon Perry) vs. Suzler (St. Eds) in a rematch of the MIT finals where Horner won in OT this year.
- The 112 semifinal bout between state champions Mitcheff (Elyria) who won state at 103 in 2006 and White (Massillon Perry) who won in 2007 at 103. This will be the first time these two have met this year.
- At 215 the match-up between Orlando Scales (Elder) vs. Tyler Rasho (Lake) in what will likely be a close match with the winner advancing to wrestle Cogar.
- The top semifinal match at 285 pits Josh Kline (Mason) the #1 ranked heavyweight in the state against the 3/4 ranked Pritchard (Northmont). Kline won the only meeting between the two this year winning 4-1 at the Scioto tournament. This will be a great match between two tough heavyweights.

The quarterfinals had some big upsets:
- Most notably was Dan Genetin (Perry) the consensus favorite among people to win the state title at 125 lbs. he fell against Anthony Salupo (St. Eds) who now has knocked off the #2 and #3 ranked wrestlers in back to back matches so far. Salupo finds himself in the semifinals against Shawn Fayette (Miamisburg).
- Kyle Lang (Brecksville) avenges his earlier loss to David Habat (St. Ignatius) in overtime. Habat had defeated Lang in overtime at Brecksville this year.
- Jerrell Valliant (Sandusky) who wasn't on anyone's radar entering this weekend has knocked off two projected state placers in back to back matches. Valliant knocked off the freshman sensation Sheppard then defeated DIII state runner-up Demas (Westerville North) in the quarterfinal match today.
- Cody Lamberg (Kenmore) had to use overtime to continue his chance to win a state title. He pinned Casey Newburg (Northmont) in overtime to advance into the semifinals.

The atmosphere at the Schottenstein Center on the Friday night of semifinals is electric. This is where dreams are one step closer and the wrestlers know this and they are wrestling like there is no tomorrow.

Finals are set for tomorrow night
103 - Kory Mines - Maple Heights vs. Gus Sako - Lakewood St. Edward
- This should be a pretty good bout between these two sophomores
112 - Jamie Clark - Lakewood St. Edward vs. Sam White - Massillon Perry
- Perhaps the most anticipated match of the night as it is the only match that pits nationally ranked wrestlers against each other
119 - Garrett Henry - Solon vs. Nick Lawrence - Westlake
- Henry has been on a roll this whole tournament, will he be able to get revenge from an earlier loss this year to Lawrence
125 - Tom Pretty - Cincinnati Elder vs. Shawn Fayette - Miamisburg
- Pretty has to be considered an odds on favorite to win
130 - Brad Squire - Wadsworth vs. Seth Horner - Massillon Perry
- Match 5 this year of these two tough wrestlers both are 2-2 this year in their matches with one another
135 - Collin Palmer - Lakewood St. Edward vs. Josh Speelman - Mansfield Madison Comprehensive
- A rematch of last week's district finals bout in which Palmer won 5-2
140 - Richie Spicel - Brunswick vs. Kyle Lang - Brecksville-Broadview Heights
- No match features a sharper contrast in styles between basic technique Spicel against the high flying funk of Lang
145 - Tony Jameson - Youngstown Austintown-Fitch vs. T.J. Rigel - New Carlise Tecumseh
- Jameson going for his 4th title here and quite honestly hasn't been as impressive with his poor management of matches. Rigel could very well give him a match
152 - Jesse Dong - Westerville North vs. Nick Heflin - Massillon Perry
- Dong seems to be a solid favorite to win his first state title
160 - Chris Kline - Westerville North vs. JT Rice - Hilliard Davidson
- Kline should add another title for Westerville North and a top 5 finish
171 - Brian Roddy - Lakewood St. Edward vs. Aaron Winemiller - Amherst Steele
- Do I need to even go over this one?
189 - Grey Isley - Sylvania Southview vs. Matt Alexander - Findlay
- Both wrestlers upset the #1 and #2 ranked wrestlers in the weight respectively and is a rematch of the Marion Harding district finals last week in which Alexander won
215 - Adam Cogar - Barberton vs. Orlando Scales - Cincinnati Elder
- A rematch of last year's state semi-finals in which Cogar won 6-3
285 - Josh Kline - Mason vs. Delonne Baker - Sandusky
- Kline the #1 ranked heavyweight in the state goes up against the upstart Baker who knocked off Ironman finalist Meder in the semi-finals

One could make the same statement about Lawrence. I didn't expect him to beat Ciccarello.
