I’m curious what the lineup would’ve been if Carson was healthy.

165 Carson
174 Smith
184 Romero
197 Jordan/Hoffman

Bucks finished 8pts away from 5th and would the above lineup make up that difference?

There is no question that if Karchla is healthy next year that Smith, Carson and Romero MUST be in the lineup. I’m also curious as to Kinners absence from the team. I’ve not heard a peep of news on this. I would love to see him back next year. His willingness to drop to 133 last season to get on the mat, and then, after the cut proved to much, moving up three weights to 157 in six weeks time proves a drive and dedication that is commendable. He could be back as a full size 157. It would also allow Gallagher to redshirt, which I think our staff should try to prioritize. He could step in the next year at 165 to take over for Smith.

Me too, i don't think he's in the transfer portal.

Do i have this correct? Our 2020 commits were

Alex Flerlage
Echmendia
Hepner

and 2021

Gallagher

Is that it? 2 years of classes and that's it?

Buckeyes also have 2021 commit Andre Gonzales from California. As well as 2022 commits Nick Feldman, Seth Shumate and Gavin Brown.

Buckeyes Recruiting news tweeted he took the semester off this year so maybe he will
be next year.

PSU forum has a Ohio state thread and guy on there reported Gonzales is walking around at 135 so maybe he has grown into 133

I gotta say that I’m very concerned about Karchla’s durability moving forward. Talk to people, refs, and the like from central Ohio. He was banged up quite a bit throughout high school. Even his redshirt year he tweaked his knee during the US open and defaulted out. Both he and Enchemendia had season ending knee injuries. That smacks of ACL/MCL type of repairs. If that’s the case your looking at an eight month type of recovery, no spring or summer wrestling, etc. Karchla was already viewed as someone who was looking at 174. Who’s to say Smith doesn’t stay at 165 for one more year. I mean he could absolutely AA in two weeks. Are you going to leave and AA at 165 or 174 out of the lineup? What about this as a possibility...
125 Heinsleman
133 no clue
141 Enchemendia/ Decatur
149 D’Emilio (he has a big frame)
157 Sasso
165 Smith
174 Karchla
184 Romero
197 Hoffman
285 Orndorf

I like that lineup

Unfortunately, the Covid exemption means that this lineup has little chance to improve upon our standing from this season. I do wonder how scholarship money will affect teams that have committed to recruits and now will have to accomodate the seniors who don't want to leave?

I was listening to Ryan's interview previewing the big ten's and he said he expected to have 10 qualifiers. I'm sure he's disappointed.

i imagine "devastated" might be more accurate.

on a lighter note, as Jared stated next years lineup will feature "No idea" at 133. i too like that selection. i am told he comes to ohio st having never taken a loss.

A couple of guys could get wildcards tonight. Flow predicted Decatur, Hoffman, and Rocky to get one.

I don't see all 3 getting one but I guess we will find out.

Trivia Question: When was the last time a Buckeye failed to make weight for the Big Ten Championship? It has to be decades.

Does this end trying to fit Decatur into the 133 slot? Maybe he's more suited to 141, but I thought we were all saying that last year.
