Anytime you wrestle at or above your seed at the Big Tens you do yourself a huge favor for seeding. Luke did himself a solid with the win today. I’m curious where the Stanford kid will end up.
149 will be an absolute mess. Lugo will be the one seed, but then you have O’Connell, Kolodzik, Llewelyn, Sasso, and Mauller. Sammy could be as high as two but he’s the only one on the list with three loses. I think he could end up anywhere from two to five. Lugo is literally the worse matchup for him because he doesn’t attack like all of these other guys. He went through the entire big ten tournament with only one takedown. He’s got to get to his offense.
I’ll also be curious if Romero or Smith climb higher for seeding as well. I thought both guys and Rocky looked solid. Traub did what needed to be done, and Malik wrestled well. I would doubt either of the other two weights would earn any kind of wild card, but here’s to wishful thinking.
PSU has a tendency to not wrestle their best at Big Tens, and today was not a good day for the Nittany Lions. 2/6 in the finals is very un PSU like. I would expect a big change in two weeks.
Right now I have the Bucks at 3.5 AAs (to which I’ll slightly take the over). I’m not shocked with five, and six is a phenomenal tourney.

That was the main reason I wanted Luke to beat Lee. I hope Lee has Woods from Stanford on his side of the bracket. His only loss was to Pletcher. Let Lee deal with him.

Luke wrestled an outstanding match in the finals against a dmn good Nick Lee. Bucks had a good tourney with no major hiccups.

I think Cleary gets a wild card.

Wasn’t avoiding your text but rather was driving. Can’t wait to watch the replay.

Under."

Easy $ there. Maryland went 0-24. Turtles are slow but that’s ridiculous!

Hopefully a great learning experience for Sasso - let's not forget he's a freshman. My takeaway was when he need to get a shot with 10 seconds left, he darn near did.

Perhaps that builds some confidence for the Nationals. When you constantly wrestle close matches, it's tough to win that tournament. Time to let it fly.

I can think of 5 PSU guys in the finals. Who was the 6th?

The Floarena software listed PSU 149 Jarod Verkleeren listed as a finalist. He was a finalist of the mini losers bracket to determine the 9th and 10th qualifiers.

Got home from Rutgers yesterday and found out my wife put me in quarantine for the next 2 weeks!! I have to stay in basement and watch sports and binge watch some shows. Damn virus!!!!

Stayed in same hotel as Penn State. Had some drinks (several) with some Penn State fans and a few Iowa fans. We had a good time going at each other. All fun.

Had a long talk with Ceasear's mom. What a nice person she is. Even with wearing an Ohio State wrestling shirt, she openly talked about her son and wrestling with me.

Seating in the RAC was horrible. My back is still hurting. The views were ok other than not seeing the edge of mat 3. Not sure why they didn't have the semi's on outside mats where everyone could see the complete mat. Sat next to some Rutgers people which was nice. Surrounded by PSU fans who I still think are booing and yelling stalling!!

Found out that Gary Traub is very popular even outside of Ohio. Was out with Gary's dad on Friday and when some Michigan, Wisconsin, and Purdue fans found out Gary's dad was there, they told him much the youth kids love Gary. Even wanted to know where they could buy Gas Tank Gary shirts.

And yes the wrestling was great as always. Felt that OSU wrestled a little sluggish first round but after that overall wrestled much better. Why Jordan continues to choose bottom is mind boggling.

Ran into Mark Cummings and his wife. Great people.

Jim, glad you enjoyed yourself; and a kid with the last name Jordan having issues getting out from bottom??? You don't say!

Speaking of which, my biggest takeaway from the finals was exactly that- getting out from bottom. The way Pletcher exploded right off the whistle every time was amazing, and what I think was the difference in the match. I'm surprised I don't see more kids doing this.

Lee is one of the most dangerous wrestles from the top position. (Pretty sure he got a turn against Pletcher their previous match?) Perfect execution from Luke, and one others should take notes on.

Sounds like you had a great time Jim. It was a nice surprise running into you again. We had a good time although my back is still messed up from those bleacher seats. I did miss my son attending with me. It just wasn't the same. He and I are planning on going to the NCAAs next week. Flights are cheap right now for some reason. If anyone has gone to the nationals and has some good tips on items to take or not take or whatever, I'd appreciate the advise.

No at-large selections for the Bucs Decatur or Cleary. Van Brill from Rutgers (157) gets in with a 19-18 win/loss record ???
