Ohio state really going hard for Bo Bassett. Coleman Scott is running a camp in Oklahoma all summer and Bo Bassett is working for this camp. Everyone thought it was advantage Oklahoma State but Coleman Scott’s wife made it clear that they are team Ohio State. Ohio state has a terrible recruiting class this year and a very small one last year. He is a must get or Ohio state will drop off significantly in a couple years. I think it comes down to Ohio state and Oklahoma state in my opinion. Just don’t think he’s following the Penn state route and wants to creat his own dynasty.

Saw in the last couple days #35 Revin Dickman committed to Virginia Tech. Was hoping Bucks would give strong consideration since he is nearby in Indiana, and a 125/133 pound prospect.
Also Aaron Stewart, a top 10 recruit recently committed to Illinois. I did see his name linked to the Bucks.
2 possible prospects off the board, makes some of these other guys that much more important.

Stewart’s teammate Caleb Noble is also an absolute hammer.
Ranked 15th nationally at 113. State champ as a freshman in Illinois big school division.
Was curious if they were some sort of package deal.
If Illinois could keep in state talent they would be very good.

Illinois could land the Raney brother too.

What’s going on with this all or nothing recruiting approach? We don’t get Blaze so we recruit absolutely no one? Is it home run or nothing with Bassett? Maybe they just weren’t impressed with others in the class, or maybe they tied up too much money in the class from three years ago. They pay a coaching salary to a guy whose primary job is to recruit so I’m not real sure what the game plan is.

Nick, the reason this year’s class is lacking is because none of the staff’s main targets have announced. It’s early. The premier guys are undecided and all of them appear to be considering Columbus.
That being said, I’m nervous. The Bucks need a monster class, and their competition for their targets is stiff.

Drew this years class has already signed the class of 2025. We got exactly one recruit. Maddox Shaw the number 12 ranked kid at 157 pounds. Not very impressive. I was talking about the seniors not the juniors.
The class of 2024 has Birden, davino, and Herman which was also very small.
2026 is a can’t miss class for the buckeyes. We have Dekraker signed but after Jax absolutely destroyed him a few weeks ago I don’t feel too good about that signing. He looks to be way overrated in my opinion. While Jax is great he is just a little ahead of the Raney twins but miles ahead of Dekraker.
Bo Bassett is the key for a successful future. landing him will be probably the biggest factor for the future of our program. Ohio state has went all in on him in every single way possible. Coleman Scott hiring him is just the latest. Landing Bo then you probably land Jax and Melvin Miller. Those three are can’t miss prospects and probably a package deal. Then you also land Keegan in a few years. His recruitment is the most important recruitment in Ohio state history. Not only the wrestlers he will bring along with him but how many points he is going to score. He is an absolute bonus point machine. He could get third place at ncaas and still score more than a guy like Marcus Blaze while winning it all.
I can almost gaurentee the top three will be Ohio state, Penn state, and Oklahoma state. I don’t think he will eliminate any more teams until after the season. I just hope he doesn’t make everyone wait until signing day like Marcus Blaze.

Bassett eliminated TWO school this week: Pitt-Johnstown and Iowa St.
The list is down to 7 with OSU still in the running.

He just sent out the updated list today. He has 7 schools remaining and I am willing to bet this is how it goes.
The next two team eliminated will be Rutgers and Virginia tech leaving the top 5 of Michigan, Iowa, Penn state, Ohio state and Oklahoma State. It is no coincidence these are the top five programs in terms of Nil also. Rutgers and Virginia tech can’t compete.
Then the next two eliminated will be Michigan and Iowa. He’s not going to cliff keen being a Rudis guy. If his faith is a top priority like he said Iowa and Brands don’t seem to fit the mold.
Then it comes down to the three I have been saying all along Penn state, Ohio state, and Oklahoma state.
This is where it can go either three ways imo.
1. Does he just want to be part of the Dynasty that is Penn state?
2. Does he want to start his own dynasty at okie state or Ohio state like he has done at Mccort?
3. Does he take the most money which would undoubtedly be at Oklahoma state?
4. Does he want to stay close to home and his brother which would eliminate okie state?
5. Can max muscle and Rudis be the deciding factor and bring him to Ohio state?
6. If faith is another factor like he says Ohio state again has to have the advantage
7. Is he a big football fan and we are by far the best program in that area lol.
I would be completely shocked if it did not go down like this and the final three be any other way.

Another reason I believe Rutgers and Virginia tech will be eliminated is that they are not on Jax Forrest’s list and I believe they will be a package deal.
He does have Gibson and teammate Magro going to Rutgers so there is a connection but I think he ultimately stays with Jax which would eliminate Rutgers.

Virginia Tech has recruited very well in my opinion. They may have more money than we think.
