"How many AA would be considered a “successful year”? I’m guessing osu will end up with 5"

I think it's relative to expectations. On the whole, I think the Buckeyes have underperformed expectations this season. However, their performance this season informed expectations going into the NCAA tournament, and I think they've wrestled significantly better this year than the season led me to expect. So I call it a very successful NCAA tournament for the Bucks after a rather lackluster season.
Especially a good session 4 last night!

Trophy clinched for the Bucks. Tom Ryan’s 8th, per the Twitter.

Took this from yappi
The Ohio State Buckeye wrestling program finished top 4 (earning a team trophy) just 3 times in school history before Tom Ryan (4th-1940, 4th-1991, 3rd-2004). After this weekend, Tom Ryan has now led the Buckeyes to EIGHT top 4 finishes! In his 15 NCAA Tournaments at the helm of Ohio State wrestling the Buckeyes have finished in the top 10 all but 1 season (14 of 15 tournaments in the Top 10). Not to mention the schools one and only National Championship. They have finished as Runners-Up 5 times.

Outstanding tournament for Ohio State. They were strategic in tight matches and even the guys who did not podium gave everything they had. Nearly a best case scenario.
Bucks have not had an individual champion since Kyle Snyder in 2018. Looking to Sammy to change that tonight. Yianni looks mortal.

That's inaccurate. Bucks have had two finishes outside the top ten. Ryan's 5th season and last year. But last year they did have 4 AA's which is still solid.

See idk about that. I think it's a good NCAA tournament relative to how the season went, but I think the season lowered pre-season expectations. So it feels good at the moment, but recall the old declaration from Coach Ryan: "Second is not the standard!"
I find myself please with how the weekend has gone, but also concerned with the program at the moment.

Ben, the season was fine. Vegas was bad and injuries impacted a dual or two, but the Bucks wrestled well when it mattered from January to March.

IMO regular season really isn't anymore than preparation for the tourneys. Doesn't mean I like it but it's a fact. As an individual you can lose to another twice but if you win the last you're the champ. this year tOSU is going to be the third or fourth best team in college. You can make the argument that over the last ten years we have had the second best program in college. Without Cael we might be the dynasty. Next year we get. to see the rest of one of the best recruiting classes ever. I think the future is bright and in good hands. just my opinion

Yianni is an asshole.
I was so impressed by the other 9 winner's interviews, the respect they gave their opponents. Yianni, even when given an opportunity by the interviewer, just doesn't think much of Sammy.
