Some thoughts.

That was the best OSU team performance in history.

I love the way this team wrestles.

A big debt is owed to Jesse Mendez. He is excellence in a singlet. His performance was sharp like an NCAA finals. Pure excellence, no mistakes.

I love Brandon Cannon's ability to generate low level attacks and copious amount of scoring.

Ben Davino is simply ahead of the curve. Think Jesse Mendez sophomore season. Except he has more offense.

I won't get into the 125 debate. Just want to state that 125 fits Bouzakis well. He is incredibly strong and has an aptitude to put people on their backs. Think Jaggers but strong. I don't want him wrestling or making weight every week. I want him showing up as this version at the end of the year. When you are a blue chip and things don't go your way. You can pack in the bags or keep realigning and digging deeper until the universe deems you worthy. It's a universal law that you have to displace the weaker version of you in exchange for the more powerful one.

Stiles can wrestle a bit undisciplined but understands scoring and is a gamer.

Paddy went 0-0 with Caliendo thru regulation. 165 is the better weight class for him. He looks physically phenomenal. He needs that one shot and finish. Think Kaleb Romero. He's close.

Kharchla showed up in good/mediocre shape. Don't care. I want him peaking in March. He is capable of excellence. Being the best in class.

I love Fishback as a Buckeye; reminds me a bit of myself. He is excellent and a student of the game. He is actively learning how to beat the best and is closing that gap. His shots were almost good enough; needs to improve the set up a bit so that he is able to clear head hands and provide a little better positioning so that he can finish.

I like both Bucks here. Shumate is a slow starter and will be in best form come February/March. Shumate can beat Endene, who will be near the top. Geog overwrestled the position with Novak and hurt his knee. He was trying to limp leg out and turn in but Novak had his hip and knee locked out. If you watched Cannon versus Voinovich. Cannon was precariously close to hurting himself but his instinct settled for a stalemate. I was literally saying, don't hurt yourself out loud.

Feldman has some moxy back and his strength is staying in position and reshots. Once you have sustained injuries, you've to adapt your wrestling so that you prevent further recurrences. This goes for Geog as well. Knees and necks are precious and there is life after wrestling.

No slight intended. I would qualify Jaggers as strong enough complemented by skill, leverage and quick recognition. I would qualify myself under that heading as well.

I qualify Bouzakis as Hulk strength. He can go go Hulk smash mode and is stronger than his opponent.

Strength can make any technique work.

Check out TR interview at the 2:40 mark, he talks about working out with Bouzakis and being "rag dolled" by him because he is so strong at 125. Tom was actually laughing when he was telling the story.

I knew it wasn't a slight -- but it still made me chuckle reading it.

Hulk Smash is a good descriptor.

"Strength can make any technique work." I'll have to take your word for it. LOL
