Discussion Topic: Harry Lester as a college coach?
Scott Nicola added to this discussion on July 2, 2008

Does Harry Lester have any aspirations to coach at the college level? With Coach Heskett out of commision as a workout partner Buckeye middle weights could certainly benefit from working out with another one of Akron's finest. TOSU has come a long way in developing the freestyle portion of their program, maybe Harry takes guys like Triggas, Bergman, and Weakley to the next level in Greco. Thoughts?

Scott:

While Harry was training at N.Michigan, he also got his diploma and teaching certificate in two subjects. If he goes into teaching, Harry can get a solid salary and benefits. If he joins the Ohio State staff, I can't imagine the pay being anywhere near the same level nor the benefits.

've got to believe he's going to get a job teaching and coaching. Certainly someone as charismatic as Harry--with "2x World Bronze Medalist" on his resume--can land a job in a top flite school system. Although knowing Harry (just a little), it wouldn't surprise me if he got involved working with poor kids in one of Ohio's urban areas.

The Buckeye staff idea sounds nice but I imagine that would be strictly a voluntary thing.

Maybe a position working for the University and then coaching the club team? Heres to hoping.

Lester Would make an awesome coach no matter where he is. He seems to be a very humble person. I would like to just see him coaching no matter where it is OSU be nice.
