Discussion Topic: Finally... The Ohio Wrestling Radio Show!

OhioWrestling.Net has teamed up with SportstalkNETWORK's Cleveland base to bring you The Ohio Wrestling Radio Show!
STNC has shows airs a variety of programming including a show we are scheduled to be in studio next to: Joe Jurevicius' weekly show. Jurevicius is a standout receiver for the Cleveland Browns and a Lake Catholic alum.
I met with the administration at the network today to discuss the logistics of it. So far we've discussed that the best time to air it is Tuesday nights from 7:00-9:00 p.m. starting on November 4. However we might have a special broadcast before it...
Some very exciting prospects...
- We can broadcast from their studio with live video from the studio or recorded match video! That means if we have Tom Ryan, Andy Hrovat, Logan Stieber, or whoever in studio, you'll see them, or if we do a show recapping the Ironman we can show video from the matches. Video can only be seen if you are watching the show live though. The audio of the show will be able to be played any time on-demand.
- We have 14 phone lines in-studio! We can have a call-in show where you the fans ask questions or give your input into whatever the big topics are in wrestling. We can also have our guests phone in and have people on other lines ask them questions. It's a great setup.
- We can broadcast from remote sites! That means if we can get the schools to be okay with us broadcasting their event, we can go to places like the Ohio State wrestle-offs, the Ironman, Medina, Brecksville, Top Gun, the State Duals, select Ohio State dual meets, all the way to the State Tournament and possibly the NCAA tournament with a live radio feed!
This is all awesome but none of it will be able to happen without your support.
- We need to get as many listeners as possible to tune in so that we stay on the air at STNC (and so the advertisers see that they are paying for a large amount of listeners).
- We also need advertisers so that we can pay for the facilities, the program director, etc. I have website statistics available for those who want to advertise. I guarantee this will give any advertiser a big bang for their buck - especially anyone advertising anything to do with wrestling, such as camps or wrestling gear.
- We also need sites that we would broadcast from to give us the okay to broadcast, such as the Ironman, Ohio State, the OHSAA, etc. Doing the show in-studio is a good option too, though, but it would be great to get out there and bring you coverage you would otherwise never get to hear.
We have about 10 weeks until the first scheduled broadcast. The sooner we have everything lined up, the better. Tell your family, tell your friends, tell everyone! We can make this thing BIG if we all get behind it.

Bring this show to the Coaches Clinic!!!!!!! Yeah, yeah. Then you could have live coverage of the wrestle-offs...with a special guest commentator...say like a guy from Columbus...who is a high school coach...who will already be there...and likes to post on this site.

After doing a little research I have figured this out. I like SportstalkCleveland after only listening for 5 minutes.

Much like a podcast, all of the shows will be archived on the SportstalkCLEVELAND website and available to listen to free on-demand.

Awesome idea, Mark. Heck, my guess is he could have two HS wrestling coaches from different parts of the state doing the commentary. Perhaps a coach from the Cincinnati area (who would also already be there) would provide a different perspective than say, a Columbus coach??? lol

Many people have asked if they could help out and I am very thankful for that. If I could get everyone on the show I would.
Right now - and for the next 10-ish weeks - our goal has to be getting advertising so that we can pay for the show. That's the biggest thing I'm going to need help with. If you would like to advertise on The Ohio Wrestling Show or if you know someone who would like to advertise on the show, please use the following contact information.
