Seed Tournaments
Seed Tournaments are tournaments in which wrestlers earn points toward their seed for the district championship tournament. These events take place throughout the year. There will be 40 tournaments this year with approximately 5 in each district in the state. Most of these events take place from October through January. Jr. High wrestlers will need to compete in these prior to the start of their Jr. High Season. You can view the current seed standings of all wrestlers whom have participated in these events since this past April by logging onto the Seed Tournament page. The seeding points and seed rankings are updated after each Seed Tournament.

Tag Team State Championships
(Entry Deadline November 5)
There has been a lot of interest in this new event for both Grade School and Jr. High. It is a unique event that will generate a great deal of excitement. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to participate in this event and become a part of the first ever Tag Team State Champion or State Placer Team. The rules are very simple. You can read the rules and other details on the tournament by logging onto Tag Team State Tournament .
High School Pre-Season State Championships
(Entry Deadline November 5)
The High School Pre-Season State Championships will allow the Ohio wrestling community to view some of the best matches and match ups they will see all year. There are no divisions in this event so the best Division I, Division II and Division III wrestlers will be facing off against each other as they compete to become Ohio’s First “ALL Ohio State Champion or Placer”. Check out the High School Pre-Season State Tournament to enter and get details.
Grade School & Jr. High Dual Meet
State Championships
(Entry Deadline February 24, 2009)
Jr. High Community Teams will compete in the same division their high school team competes, Division I, Division II or Division III. There will be just one division for Jr. High Club Teams.
Grade School wrestlers will compete in either the Community Division or the Club Division. There are six divisions in all between Jr. High and Grade School levels. We will be accepting ONLY 80 teams. This comes out to an average of just 13 teams per division. EARLY ENTRY IS A MUST! Several teams have already contacted the OAC to reserve their spot. If you would like to reserve a spot contact the OAC office.
First Ever Youth Football State Championships
With the combined efforts of the Middle School Athletic Association (MSAA) & the OAC to give ALL young Ohio athletes a chance to compete in a variety of sports we will be offering the first ever Youth Football State Championships. This will allow youth teams from around the state to compete against each other. Don’t miss out on the chance to compete and showcase your skills at the first ever youth football state championships. For more information please visit www.ohioyouthfootball.org
For Coaches to Enter a Team for the Dual Meet State Championships
(Deadline for entering as a team is February 24, 2009)
To enter a team for the Dual Meet State Championships or to get more information, contact the OAC office. Once again, please be aware this event will fill up quickly. Early entry is advised!
Discount Grade School District Entry Fee for Members of Grade School Clubs/Teams
(Deadline for entering as a team is January 15, 2009)
Only teams that enter as a team will be competing for the state Championship and Runner-Up awards.
Grade School wrestlers should ask their coach about entering your team for the Grade School District Championships. There is a significant discount rate for teams/clubs that enter this year’s Grade School District Tournament as a team. If your team is or may be competing as a team (ask your coach), you should NOT enter for a district until your Coach instructs you to do so. Once you enter as an individual you will not be able to change your entry to be part of a team. Teams that will be competing must have their Coach E-mail the OAC Operations Manager with their name and phone number and their request to enter a team. The Coach will be given instructions on how to enter the team and will then notify his wrestlers when they are to go onto the district entry form to confirm your personal district entry.
