typo at 160, 2 guys from same school ranked, Courts and Dallago--- not my doing, editor screwed it up -- will be dropping Dallago at 160 replaced by Evan Knight from Iowa..

to paraphrase what the chain-gang bossman said in Cool Hand Luke , "What we had here is a failure to communicate."

I have a hard time imagining that there are four 119's in the country better than Jamie Clark.

Scott, yep i agree, but situation is the top 5 at 119 are all great , each could be # 1 in another weight class. The rankings are just, maybe Clark proves he is the best but for now 119 is correct:

1 Mango, junior national champ both styles in fargo, this is like a golfer winning the US Open & Masters in same season, its the pinnacle for a high school wrestler ---and must be rewarded.

2 Shane Young, has about a 88 match winning streak in PA, and was 2nd to Mango in fargo freestyle.

3 Alan Waters, 2 years ago won both styles in fargo Cadets, beating Clark in the freestyle finals.

4 Tyler Cox, some think he shoud be # 1, won NHSCA juniors tourn in VA Beach last March, a 3-1 finals win over # 1 Mango. Has one loss in his high school career. Cox is the last wrestler to beat David Taylor in fargo, in Greco finals 3 years ago.

5 Clark, i think he is Great but fact is because of injury he couldnt compete in fargo this summer and inactivity can hurt your ranking.

Bob,

WIll any of those Heavyweights be at Ironman. I know Cary came last year with Burns but did not bring the Heavyweight.

A match I would love to see is Grajales vs. Taylor. Both have outstanding resumes in folk and international styles but Grajales has always been a couple weights bigger. Anyone care to breakdown how they think this one would go?

Jerry-

Don't think so, unless Miller is coming, which would be "new" this year. Burns wasn't from Cary - he was from Cardinal Gibbons - and I don't think Cary is on the Ironman guest list (could be wrong).

Mike-
As far as I know no. The Missouri kids can't come, travel rules. Campbell County is a haul. Penn-Trafford, I wouldn't expect coming.

I think Grajales vs Taylor would be a barn burner. I think Grajales wins with a last second takedown. I just think he is the slicker wrestler, and Taylor from 112 to 135, don't know how he will handle that jump. Watching Grajales vs Oliver (who I thought was the #1 guy last year), I just don't think anyone can beat Grajales this year. Oliver could not take him down, and if anyone who has watched Oliver knows that he is a takedown machine, and no one takes him down. Question for Bob, how come Brandon Fl does not come to Ironman anymore, also does anyone know where Grajales may go to school, I know on that ESPN doc he said Penn b/c his brother was there, but w/out Zeke?

... none of the top 12 Hwts are in Ironman-- this is on paper a very weak year for Hwts nationally, and it seems to get weaker every year-- Ironman has bucked the trend and had some very good Hwts in the past but maybe not so much this year ?

285 James Meder from Valley Forge is in Ironman, i like him alot if he stays healthy. Jeremy Johnson from Brecksville placed in Fargo (and i believe he won FILA Juniors), he is in too. College coaches must be pulling their hair out, once u delete the guys who will be playing football and not wrestling in college, not much left but i think Meder and Johnson are legit wrestling recruits.

....none of the 119s ranked ahead of Jamie Clark are entered in the Ironman. Should be good weight class though, with Sean Boyle form Blair, Gabe Gomez from Colorado, Shane Gentry from Va, and perhaps James Ingrham from U School-- Neibert maybe 119 ? Coming in from California is Jesse Delgado , 3rd in Calif states, and winner of NHSCA sophomore nationals in Va Beach. Theres others i'm overlooking, it'll be a good weight class.

Too bad Clark got hurt in fargo, in his wt 112 Junior freestyle were 3 of the 4 ranked ahead of him, all but Cox.

Brandon not in Ironman because apparently they didnt want to come north this season-- not in Beast nor Clash either, and on paper they have a very good team.
