Yesterday, one of our projected starters, junior Tyler Cole, passed away. He passed out during a backyard football game. Tyler was not going going to be a state qualifier but he had done everything we as coaches ask of kids: get good grades, come to the camp, lift. He is one of the kids who we as coaches could kid with to break the stress during those days when practice becomes more like work than something you do for fun. This is a hole in our heart that runs deep.

May the Lord comfort you and His grace and mercy be upon the entire East Lake North wrestling community and highschool. Is a very difficult thing when a young person passes way.

The heart of most wrestling programs isn't necessarily the most talented competitors--it's the good kids that work hard, pay attention and give you a valiant effort regardless of ability. This young man sounds like he was one of those young men. How sad this news is. My condolences to this young man's family as well as all those whose lives he touched.
