Coby Boyd per InterMat has commited to Michigan to wrestle. Looks like St. Paris is putting some great wrestlers in the Big 10. Boyd I think I will be a great fit up there at Michigan wrestling at 149/157, he should be an immediate impact for that lineup as they have a hole in this part of the lineup right now.

Michigan has not recruited as well the last few years as they were several years ago (with Kellen Russell the exception). I think Coach McFarland has stepped it up a notch by getting committments from Boyd and Hunter Collins. As always, when Michigan needs a big recruit, they look to Ohio (Bertin, Luke, Moos, Kulcyzki, Hrovat, Forward, etc...).

FYI. The home page Coby Boyd announcement "link to article" actually directs to the Jameson article. Is there a Boyd article? If so, I'd be interested in reading it. Thanks!

Fixed earlier today. Look forward for some more stuff from Aaron LaBatt. He is a journalist for the Bellefontaine Examiner who will be blogging with us all year.

I am really looking forward to seeing what Boyd can do in college. He just has some raw strength to go with his technique. He has the "Boyd" almost like Johnny Thompson of Okie State has the "Snake" and it has caught many of great wrestlers flat on there backs.

Could Jodan and Boyd meet some day down the road in the Big Ten tourney? Interesting match up to ponder.

I think that the projections for Jordan end up being in the 165/174 range down the road while Boyd will end up being 149/157. The more interesting question to ask is will Jameson and Boyd ever meet in a dual down the road or in match in college?
