Steve Mitcheff
of Elyria verbally committed to Kent State University. Mitcheff was fifth last year at 112 pounds in Division 1 after winning the 103 pound state championship as a sophomore. He also placed at 103 as a freshman. Mitcheff, who projects to be at 112 or 119 this year, will be a 125 for the Golden Flashes. He is head coach Jim Andrassy's first commitment from the class of 2008.
Johnny Papesh
of Aurora signed with Campbellsville University. Papesh was third last year at 112 pounds in Division 2 after finishing third as a sophomore and fourth as a freshman at 103 pounds. Like Mitcheff, Papesh projects to be a career 125 in college. The Tigers finished in the NAIA Top 10 under head coach Franky James.
If Ohio wrestling fans aren't already familiar with Campbellsville, they will be soon. They are a top NAIA program whose roster included former Ohio high school standouts Zach Flake (NAIA National Champion), Dave Clemens (All-American), Chris Seta (All-American), and brothers Jairus and Jake Murton (Jake was an All-American).
