157 pounds: Joe Cornejo (MVC) md. Thomas Straughn (NDC) 8-0

???

Would like to see the video of that match. Cornejo is either an animal or Straughn was hurt. I'm not saying I cannot imagine Thomas losing, but 8-0 is huge.

Anyone have any info on the match?

When you talk about wrestling in ohio, its time to put their stud line up in the mix. How many of these guys could compete in Div 1 wrestling....i think, most of them. I beleive that some of them could place in in big Div1 tournaments especially when they are jr. and sr......????

I think a lot of them could certainly compete at D1. Heck, Derek Foore beat Magrum and Magrum is a serviceable wrestler in his first year (let's hope his injury isn't bad). Koballa, Pelton, and Straughn in particular stick out as guys who could be quite competitive.

As far as placing in big D1 tourneys, I'm not saying that you're wrong, but I think that's something that needs to be proven. Being competitive is one thing, but beating D1 AAs is kind of a "show me" thing.

I believe Cornejo was a top 10 recruit a few years ago from Kansas (?). I think he committed to Northern Illinois but couldn't make it there and moved on.

I think you should be able to see it on Sportslive video ,,, the guy said they archive everything and the matches from the duels would be up early this week .
