Graham wins this one running away but some interesting results in this one.

130 - Nick Skonieczny (Walsh) defeats the freshman sensation Bo Jordan 2-1 in SV RO in the finals. Here is a link to the video

http://gohiocasts.com/event/main/video/id/236279-Alliance-Top-Gun-GOhioCasts/vid/264901-130-FINAL-Skonieczny-Walsh-VS-B.-Jordan-St.-Paris-Graham

135 - Zack Dailey (Perry) upends Isaac Jordan 1-0 getting revenge from last weeks dual loss at Graham.

140 - Martinez (Graham) handles Armstrong (Kenston Ridge) to win 7-3

I am very excited about the DII matchups this year at state especially at 140 with Martinez, Miller and Armstrong.

New DI rankings will be out this week. With some analysis, still debating on whether to write the Ransick report.

Couple of notes-

103- Big win for Tomasello over Stainbrook. I pesonally picked Tomasello to win the whole thing, but third is no shame- especially with a nice win in the third place match.

112- Newhouse continues to progress with a win here in a pretty deep and balanced weight. The top six here were all very legit kids, and this is another step forward for Newhouse, who has made a few this year. Also big win for Jack Young over Luke Langdon in the third place match.

119- Brascetta another big win over Mitch- he has now won two out of three this year between the two, IIRC. I would say he is the favorite in Columbus, but we remember what Ty Mitch did last year against a Graham wrestler who had beaten him earlier in the year in Columbus. I hate picking against Mitch, but I am going to. Mitch is a great freestyler, but this is folk, and Brascetta is just that much better on the mat.

125- Nice win for DiJulius. According to Josh Lowe's interview, Myers was a double Junior Fargo AA this summer, despite never having placed at state in PA- so a nice win for Johnni. Kegley wrestled well to place third- 10-4 over McNulty is a legit win. Neff takes fifth with a nice win over the very impressive 9th grader Dobben from CVCA.

130- Skonieczny with a win over the uberhyped frosh Bo Jordan. He has really made a few steps forward this year- good last year, very, very good this year. He is the favorite here now. Warner sticks the improving Arrendale for third- Carlone a dissapointing fifth.

135- Big win for Dailey here- I wouldn't want to wrestle him right now.I think he has a shot at the finals in DI- but I would hesitate to pick him over Fayette yet- Davis and Gordon maybe. Nice deep weight here, as the top seven are all tough.

140- Felipe with another W over Armstrong. The two of them and Ian Miller are going to put on a show in Columbus- all are fun to watch. Felipe is too good though, I don't see him losing. Foster continues to improve- he is really wrestling well this year and has a big win over the very good Languis here for third.

145- Stephens does what you would expect him to do.

152- Hightower does what you would expect him to do. Very good tournament for Cummins.

160- Nice win for Perry here, with the win over Meadows- who is now at this weight after wrestling 189 earier in the year. Dan and I assume this makes way for Utley to go 189 and take on Schaefer, Brettrager, Beam, and Raber as opposed to Phillips. Another nice showing for McNamara after a good Brecksville.

171- Huge win for Utley- I would have expected him to win this match by a slim margin, but not 14-4 over a returning state runner up. This is a big step forward, as I consider some of his results to be a tad underwhelming YTD. Nice win in the third place match by Tylan Coleman, who could be quite a force if he would open up more.

189- Thomusseit does what you would expect him to do. Nice tournament for the freshman Tayse of Perry. He beats the tough Wiley from Hoover in the third place match- kid comes in with a great resume, and this could help him turn the corner.

215- Wow- I would have picked Weeks to beat Poyser, and Poyser wins by major. Wise finishes where you would expect. A Perry fan would have liked to see him with a W, as I don't feel he is too far behind the top two, but that's life.

285- Solid win by Karageorge. Mayse is apparently fairly injured- hopes to him for a speedy recovery.

I don't think this match makes him the favorite. If Jordan doesn't differ at the start of 2nd period, he most likely chooses up in final OT and wins.

Brady- very possible. It is a tough call- based on this match, I have a hard time seeing Nate get a takedown on Bo. However, Skonieczny is just rolling this year, and I have a hard time picking against him. Call it just a gut feeling.

Raber is trying to drop to 160. Will that happen? I don't know.

I think Utley stays at 171 when the day is done. He can still get 20+ team points finishing second to Phillips -- since I think he would win with bonus points in his matches prior to the final (and those two would be opposite at state).

Weeks has kind of had a mixed bag this year. Hot and cold - you saw that at Brecksville. Wise was up like 4-1 with two takedowns late in the second period when Weeks hit a 2+3 with a fireman's/dump.
