Looks like Dustin's knee was worse than expected. He defaulted out of his Rnd 1 match. That is truly a shame.
Congrats on a great colllege career!!!

I just watched that match. It looked like he probably should not have even been out there. He gave up one takedown and rolled around in pain and couldn't continue. I give him all the credit in the world for trying though. Hopefully he didn't do any additional damage to his knee.

Thus ends the career of one of the greatest wrestlers I have ever seen. I loved watching Dustin wrestle in high school and college. Best of luck to him in the future. Maybe he'll continue in freestyle?

It would have been nice to see him not wrestle here at all and recieve a medical redshirt.

so sad to hear this and the way things have played out for dustin. i still believe that had he never been injured, he was a four time NCAA champion.

He couldn't. He wrestled the vast majority of the whole season.

Dustin and Pucillo both began the year as favorites to win their second titles and earn their 4th AA honors. Both wrestlers have been doomed by the affects of injuries. Mike still has a shot but...

I remember State his Jr. year. Four tech falls. Could have had a pin or two, I guess he just decided to do it that way.
