Discussion Topic: Most state titles by a family
John Herren added to this discussion on December 13, 2007

My friend and I were discussing this last night. Do I have it right? No Div1 or AAA titles for 4 of the 5 families. Not that I think some of these young men could not have won state in the bigger division. But maybe not as many.

13 = DiSabato (Andy, Dave, Vince 2, Leo 2, Luke, Mike, Adam 2, Dom 3)
10 = Jordan (Jim 4, Jeff 4, Ben 2)
9 = Dernlan (Jeff 2, Steve 2, Matt 2, Tim 3)
8 = Opfer (Jared 4, Drew 3, Corey 1)
8 = Schlatter (C.P. 4, Dustin 4)

Looks like Jordan may be at the top of that list here soon if Ben finishes with a title and I believe he has a few more coming up but not too sure on that.

Thanks Ryan about Matt winning three. So we now have.

13 = DiSabato (Andy, Dave, Vince 2, Leo 2, Luke, Mike, Adam 2, Dom 3)
10 = Jordan (Jim 4, Jeff 4, Ben 2)
10 = Dernlan (Jeff 2, Steve 2, Matt 3, Tim 3)
8 = Opfer (Jared 4, Drew 3, Corey 1)
8 = Schlatter (C.P. 4, Dustin 4)
8 = Palmer ????
8 = Stieber ????

I posted this on another website and got a reply that the Jordans could put the record out of reach. Jeff has Bo, Mick and Rocky while Jim has Ben and Isaac (8th grade). Could we be looking at an over/under of 20 for the Jordan family. Wow.

One big omission--The Hanson brothers (not the guys from slapshot) from Rich. Heights.

State Championships Won:
Jim Hanson 73, 74 75
Tim Hanson 80, 81
Dan Hanson 84, 85, 86, 87

That's 9 from a single family.

What about the Falk's? Mark won 3 and Josh won one, if Tom won one (which I believe he did) and now with Michael a sophomore at Grandview, the Falk's may move up onto the list with a possible six or seven.
