If true I see him having a tough time cracking the lineup. They 2x returning AA Nevinger back and RS sophomore Alex Cisneros who I believe was a top 10 recruit last year. Unfortunately I think injuries have taking their toll on him much like Magrum.
He would be missed since he is a quality backup and by all a counts a great teammate.

If Logan does go 141, then there will be a log jam at 149. Cam or Hunter could still RS, but the way Hunter wrestled this year I doubt if it would be him.

If Paddock transfers, I wish him well. Don't blame him for wanting one more crack at the lineup. Easier for him to start at Cornell than Ohio State.
One option for Bucks if Logan moves up--Hunter to 149, Cam to 157 and Demas to 165 with a redshirt for BoJo.
Cam beat Zylverberg while competing at 157 vs Minny and he turned out to be pretty tough.
BoJo redshirting makes a lot of sense. Look at Logan, Taylor, Ruth and others who redshirted. BoJo can AA as a true frosh--maybe even win it. But we know he'll be phenomenal if he redshirts.

I'm with you on the BoJo redshirt, Hank. But, Bob says it's not happening, so that means either Cam or Hunter - most likely Cam.

I'm not sold that some of these guys can bump up like perhaps we think they can - and still succeed like we want them to (and the level I'm sure they want to).

I agree. I think Logan, Hunter, and Nick would do fine bumping up. Cam seems undersized for 157, and unless Demas was cutting alot to get to 157 and that's why he looked so slim, i'm not sure he's big enough for 165. But hey, guys can pack on alot of muscle in 6 months.
That said, I think Demas has to go 165 because Martin has to go 174, i don't see any alternatives for those weights. i think 157 then comes down to Cam and Bo.
125 : Roberts (Tomasello redshirts)
133 : DiJulius
141 : Logan
149 : Hunter
157 : Bo (Cam redshirts)
165 : Demas
174 : Martin
184 : Courts
197 : Heflin (Camp redshirts)
285 : Tavanello

What about a National Title next year or the year after? With the top recruits coming in added to the team TOSU has now they may have enough talent to win it all. I believe a red shirt for any wrestler that could contribute to that goal would be counter productive. Even if the red shirts were to become National Champs in the future it would not help the team effort. More top wrestlers would have to be recruited to replace the ones lost to graduation.
That may not be so easy. Strike while the iron is hot.
Paddock transfering to Cornell? I wish Taylor would transfer to TOSU.

JR:
Let's be honest...what about this season leads one to believe that the Bucks can take out PSU next year?
The Stiebers and Heflin are your money wrestlers---everyone else is still proving what they can do. We all want to see Demas continue to improve and Tessari come back strong. After that, we've got a bunch of maybe.
I think Coach Ryan and his staff need to take an candid assessment of where they are next fall with guys like Camp, Courts, DiJulius and Martin and decide if it's the right season to go all in. Otherwise, redshirt BoJo and maybe Cam. Redshirt Tomasello too. Let the season unfold. And make a big run the year after when PSU no longer has Ruth and Taylor.

Speaking of possibe transferdid anyone else see this in the Foley's Friday Mailbag: March 15, 2013 anyone have any insite on if he would tansfer or not?
This question has probably been asked numerous times, but why did Joey Davis choose Notre Dame College? He would easily be top five in Division I. Do he and fellow high school teammate Tank transfer to OSU in the next year? Not a knock on Notre Dame, but c'mon. I would love to see him and Massa.
-- Chris H.
Foley: No definitive plans on what Joey Davis is planning to do next year for college, but I assure you he won't be leaving Notre Dame College in Ohio with a degree. He's a tremendous talent and his absence at the D1 tourney might be an issue of something as simple as not filing proper NCAA paperwork, or needing to buff up some grades before getting into a big school like Ohio State. Though going to college to participate in school seems like a cinch, it sometimes takes much more than what it appears. Besides, maybe being so impressive at ND has boosted his value?

Three points to make here.
If Paddock transfers, I wish him the best. It would be great to see him have a solid AA chance before he graduates.
While I hope this isn't the case, it wouldn't surprise me if Cam were not on the roster next year.
Re: Joey Davis... Foley seems to intimate that the academic rigors at a private school like NDC might somehow be less than those at other schools. Aren't the eligibility guidelines the same regardless of Division? Is this a thinly veiled attempt to suggest that NDC might admit an athlete that would be ineligible at many other schools? Just asking...

The clearing house for Division 1 and 2 is pretty close, but there are a few minor differences. I think there may be one less reading credit required and maybe one other thing. The issue may have been getting accepted to the school rather than getting through the clearing house. I know some guys (wrestlers) have gotten into Notre Dame in the past who didn't qualify at a lot of the big schools.
He could have been a prop 48 (maybe different number) but basically he would have to redshirt his first season then he would have three years of eligibility. If he finished his degree by the 4th year he gets his 5th year if not he loses it. I don't know if this is still around but I know a few years back when I was in school this was around for D1, but in D2 same guy could wrestle right away.

I think until Ruth and Taylor graduate, PSU will be tough to beat. Ryan will have to pick the year he wants to go "all in" with Logan having two more years of wrestling. He's our ace and will be hard to beat in the next two years.

Once Taylor and Ruth graduate, we only have Logan and likely Hunter for one more year as well as having lost Heflin. If TOSU wants to win a National title they will need to go all in and compete for it. Add Bo to next years lineup and Snyder to take over at 197 once Heflin is gone. Next year gives us a big four in both Steibers, Bo Jo and Heflin, with Snyder in for Hef the following year. Besides those four We'll need some AA finishes from at least some of the likes of Tomasello, Roberts, Johnny D., Cam, Josh, Courts, Camp and Tav.
