Simmons jumping into the fray at 60 kg is an interesting surprise. I don't think he'll win but he's a tough matchup for anyone--especially since we now have these 7 point techs. If he locks on to you and turns you a couple times, match = over.

Can't say I see Michalak winning this, though he did beat Varner once.

I don't know how I feel about these 7 pt. tech falls. I love everything about the new rules, but I wonder how the tech fall rule will affect the brackets. In just a few short hours of wrestling, I have seen quite a few matches ended very quickly.

However, with matches being only 15-20 minutes apart, it creates incentive to develop your parterre offense and get the heck off the mat!

Dake beats Taylor 7-4...Taylor had tied the score at 4 with a takedown......Dake scored a reversal and a late TD for the win.

Maybe , but not on a consistent basis like Dake has beaten him. Dake is truly under appreciated by most fans.

Burroughs. First reason...he's the undefeated champ. 2nd...Dake has run the gauntlet and has to be a bit worn out. Still, what a day for Dake!

I mean top 5 for a guy who won 4 titles in 4 weights isn't exactly surprising.

I would agree that Dake doesn't get the fanfare relative to his accomplishments.

Remember Metcalf during his heyday? Never had an undefeated season but was the most talked about and celebrated(and to a degree hated) guy out there. Dake never matched Brents level of chatter, yet dwarfed his accomplishments.
