Johnny Hendricks was ABSOLUTELY robbed tonight.
A few years back I was made known what happened to Oregon wrestling. Since then I have never purchased another Nike product. After tonight, I will never - EVER - purchase another UFC fight.
Agon, I'm yours.

I was shocked by the decision. I'll admit I generally favor the wrestler, but pretty much every major MMA site and UFC president Dana White himself think Hendricks was the clear winner.
Bummer for Hendricks.

GSPs reputation precedes him. Johnny Hendricks is a BEAST. Looking forward to watching that guy some more in the future. It would be a shame if there is not a rematch.

The UFC doesn't deserve a rematch. Nor does GSP. Johny retired him, or he should have.

Unfortunately Hendricks didn't do anything in the 5th round. The fight was there for the taking, and GSP completely out worked him in the 5th.

Before you boycott UFC, Dana White's comments lead me to believe that it's the Nevada Gaming Commission who is to blame for incompetent judges. With that said, I'm not at all knowledgeable on the topic and categorically take Dana's comments with a grain of salt.

It's a flawed scoring system.
You could say that Hendricks won a couple rounds by a wide margin.
Two rounds could have been considered close.
The 10-8 round is rare, so dominating a round nets the same point total as barely winning a round.
So while Hendricks clearly won the overall fight, if you break it down by rounds it's at least debatable that GSP won.
Saying all that - I thought Hendricks was the clear winner, regardless of the dumb, antiquated scoring.
I also thought Johnny played it safe in RD5, thinking he was up 3-1. This is his corner's fault - they should have told him he needed to win the round. His goal was to not get submitted, and two judges had it 2-2 leading into that round. Strategic mistake by his corner.

Ethan: perhaps that is my problem - I am uneducated on what it takes or how to score a fight. In my mind, watching the fight is seeing the forest. It could be that the judges were focusing on each tree, and thus, missed the overall picture.
And sometimes we see what we want to see. GSP has been good to Vegas. Hendricks was booed by the majority of the crowd during his post-fight interview. His "bad boy" rep precedes him...something the judges were aware of.
All in all, Hendricks won.

Hendricks clearly thought he had the fight won. He did nothing inthe 5th and GSP worked his ass off. I wanted to see Hendricks win, but I knew they weren't going to give it to him after that round.
