as many recruiting mistakes as ohio st made in recent years, could have been even worse-- in this case ohio st dodged a bullet (with alex meade too, remember him?)
Five-time Minnesota state champion Destin McCauley did not even qualify out of one of the western regionals-- from Nebraska-Kearney and took sixth. ...s/BobP

It isn't stated in the published schedule. Last year semis were on day 2.

We have national championship wrestling in downtown Cleveland and this is the best the PD can do? Oh, for days of Pat Galbincea.
You can bet that tomorrow's paper will be just full of MAC basketball news.
On a distant note, while I am VERY happy the event is in Cleveland, there likely isn't worse venue for the spectators. The wait for tickets is beyond reasonable and the sight lines are awful. No matter where you sit, the mats closest to you have about 1/2 the circle out of your view. IMO, they would have been better off putting 5 or 6 mats right down the center end to end.
BTW, $9 to park for about 3 hours didn't make me very happy either.
Regardless, I will be there tonight.

Jim,
Warsinskey covering it, but alot of that stuff is not in paper but rather on cleveland.com since the PD changed their operation last August.
wrestling is a little-money sport, venues like Public Hall are what wrestling can afford. Wrestling had a nice venue at st John arena for NWCA duals a month ago and no one came, so there we are, thats how it is.

Bob,
I do understand the cost part of things but there are a number of venues that would have been better that Public Hall. I am sure that Public Hall is less expensive than the other two big places but there are HS's all over that would have been better. If they are "above" being seen in a HS, then Kent or Ashland should have been an option.
Believe me, I am really happy that the event is here. My complaint is that, as a spectator, you miss a lot of the action. If part of the problem is attracting fans, this is not the way to do it.
Just my $.02.

Jim, i no disagree, ive been to Public Hall for NHSCA Sr Ntls and US Mens Open, its not good venue.
did Kent or Ashland bid on it?? u gotta bid to get it.
just keep in mind the Beatles played Public Hall in the 60s. It held the Republican convention there in 1932 --your at a historic site (if thats any consolation).
