Discussion Topic: Ohio Tournament of Champions Rumor

I have been informed, by a couple of people, that a rumor is circulating that the Ohio Tournament of Champions will be cancelled this year. THERE IS NO TRUTH TO THIS RUMOR and the event will still be held at the same location.
These rumors started a few weeks ago, when the Convention Center had a water main break. However, it seems that the news reporters could not distinguish the difference between dry wall and concrete damage. There was no damage to the concrete in the halls where the event takes place - only to the drywall around the columns, which will be repaired in plenty of time.
The Arnold Classic (Arnold Schwarzenegger's Bodybuilding Event) takes place about 8 weeks before our event and uses the same halls we do and they are still on as well.
From what I have been told, by my sales rep, is that only damage, other than to some carpet, was to a couple of smaller meeting rooms which we do not use.
We look forward to seeing everyone on April 26.

Bart, my wife works for Columbus Hospitality which owns the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Max and Erma's across the street from the Convention Center. When this water main broke there was not even enough damage to cancel the event that was using the CC THAT WEEKEND, let alone an event 4 months later.
The concrete floor in the Convention Center is made to float for reasons like this. If it was not, there would have been significant damage to the floor. Instead, the floor did what it was supposed to do, it floated. That did cause damage to the carpeting and some drywall was broken up in some areas, but the columns that are holding the place up are steel and concrete buried 30 feet into the ground, they didn't move.

That is GREAT news. We plan to get mats and workers down there. I always loved this event. You get to see great wrestling from around the entire nation.
Again, great news.
