Discussion Topic: Is the Division 1 state title up for grabs?

If the latest reports hold true and Roddy is out for the year, St. Ed's may not have the firepower to hold off the top contenders.
Quote from Bucksman from another site's post:

"These were my formula ranks off of the 1-1-08 DI ranks
Eds
M. Perry
Moeller
Kenmore
U. Lake
Elder
St Ignatius
A Fitch
W North
Elyria
(that is the board)"

Anyone one have ideas as to how many SQ make it from each of the top 5 teams? What’s interesting is 3 of the top 5 teams are out of the same district. Could the team race at the Massillon Perry district tournament foretell the state champs?

The only way I see anyone other than Eds winning is if a perfect storm arises.
If Massillon Perry has:
- Hannan places top 4
- White wins state
- Hillock places top 4
- Genetin wins state
- Horner wins state
- Heflin a finalist
- Phillips places top 5
Then Eds would have to have a total collapse. Roddy would have to be out of the tournament all together. They would have to have Cobos, Salupo, Birt, Suba and Martinson all fall and not even win matches there. Then that would only leave Sako, Clark, Sulzer and Palmer to win matches and place.

I imagine Mike Green will win some matches and I would even peg him to place.

Not a chance this year. Maybe they get dethroned in a couple of years, but it is going to take a great deal of time and effort.
How amazing that their down year is STILL a hundred points better than anyone else at the state tournament!?!?!?
