That's a great win for the Ashland squad. Findlay is a very tough opponent and it's always big to win over your arch-rival.

Ashland, based on the latest rankings released on February 7, is ranked #10 in the nation, while Findlay is #16.

Notes:
- Solid lightweight wins for the Eagles.
- At 141, true freshman Falk was a high school stud at Bluffton who went 5-1-2-2 in his career. Kanaga is nephew of Ashland coach Gary Kanaga.
- 149 was one of the most anticipated bouts of the night, Marcus Gordon, a former two-time state champion from Ashland Mapleton, defeated Sean Dong, a key transfer from Eastern Michigan who was a high school star at Detroit Central Catholic.
- At 157 pounds, #7 Tony Guerra, a senior two-time national champion upset #3 Muhammad Abdur-Rahman, a true freshman. Yes, that's right. A two-time national champion "upset" (if you can believe it) a true freshman. Rankings are what they are...
- Tony Bradberry and Justin Shannon did battle at 165. Both are excellent wrestlers and members of this forum.
- At 174, Jeff Havelka upset returning All-American Justin Ferguson.
- At 184, Findlay's Hiram Smith, who transferred to Findlay from Ashland took a decision.
- At 197, #3 Josh Ohl won by a 16-6 major decision over freshman Dan Stevenson. Stevenson is no slouch. He defeated John Weakley earlier in the year.
- At heavyweight, Ashland's Ray Kent upset #8 Travis Clark.

Abdur-Rahman has gone close with Joe Pflug and Tony Guerra. With improvement, he could become one of the all-time greats for Ashland.

I heard Guerara stayed down in a three-point football stance the ENTIRE match and would not open up against Rahman.
