2. Kirtland - 58.5
3. Andover Pymatuning Valley - 54
4. Burton Berkshire - 52
5. Middlefield Cardinal - 44
6. Newbury - 32
7. Thompson Ledgemont - 31
8. Gates Mills Hawken - 30
9. Beachwood - 29.5
10. Wickliffe - 24
11. Orwell Grand Valley - 15.5
12. Fairport Harbor Harding - 7

Semifinal Pairings

103
Alex Dronzek (Beachwood) v. Joe Jones (Wickliffe)
Tim Triskett (VASJ) v. MacCuilinn Clancy (Pymatuning Valley)

Notes: This is a strong field, especially for 103. Dronzek versus Triskett will be an awesome final and I don't know who I'd pick as the favorite. Jones and Clancy will be the other two qualifiers. I'm impressed with Jones' strength but I think Clancy's experience will get him third place.

112
Alec Jacober (Beachwood) v. Alex Alusheff (Wickliffe)
Tim Sell (VASJ) v. Dale Ray Lowe (Pymatuning Valley)

Notes: This is another strong field, one of the toughest of the whole tournament. Jacober is the best kid here. Sell will likely meet him in the finals, with Alusheff and Pawlowski (who lost to Jacober in the quarterfinals) wrestling for third place and Lowe being the alternate.

119
Eric Meisel (Hawken) v. Trevor Haueter (Cardinal)
Tyler Porter (Berkshire) v. Cameron Kovac (Wickliffe)

Notes: I think any of the top four at 112 could win here. Meisel and Porter will be in the final and I don't know who the favorite would be between them. Porter, only a freshman, will get better quickly.

125
Greg Marmaros (Beachwood) v. Nate Baker (Hawken)
Randy Rose (Cardinal) v. Tim Goodman (Pymatuning Valley)

Notes: Marmaros towers over this class but Rose will hold him to a decision in the final. Baker and Goodman are a solid third and fourth.

130
Blake Thoreson (Berkshire) v. Dan Romacciato (VASJ)
A.J. Rabovsky (Beachwood) v. Jake Brown (Pymatuning Valley)

Notes: Thoreson is a big favorite here but Rabovsky is good enough to hold him to a decision. Brown, Romacciato, and Freiberg will battle it out for the final two qualifying spots. I'm not sure who Freiberg lost to in the quarterfinals.

135
Dave Malkus (Berkshire) v. Ray Nevison (Pymatuning Valley)
Chad Zeigler (Cardinal) v. Matt Bromelmeier (VASJ)

Notes: Malkus is the big gun here and I think he wins big over Zeigler or Bromelmeier in the final. Nevison and the loser of the other semi look to go for third.

140
John David Hopkins (Kirtland) v. Ben Cochran (Berkshire)
Kyle Freiberg (Cardinal) v. Joe Georgian (VASJ)

Notes: This is one of the toughest weight classes here, if not the toughest. Freiberg will dominate. I think the second best kid is Georgian, who beat Fairport's Giffin in the quarterfinals. Giffin beat second-seeded Cochran, who was a state alternate last year, 9-5 at the CVC tournament. Hopkins defeated third-seeded Fink in the quarterfinals.

145
Angelo Francis (Kirtland) v. John Pokorny (VASJ)
Jon Jackson (Grand Valley) v. Chad Dayton (Ledgemont)

Notes: The likely final is Francis versus Jackson. They wrestled in a dual at Grand Valley with Francis winning by decision, but he was at 152 at the time. I think last night's weigh-outs will help both wrestlers. Don't sleep on Pokorny who was a finalist here two or three years ago and only has about five losses this year. Dayton is a solid fourth.

152
Matt Groudle (VASJ) v. Jarrod Woodard (Pymatuning Valley)
Justin LaRosa (Ledgemont) v. Stephen Manyo (Newbury)

Notes: Groudle is returning state alternate. LaRosa is a defending sectional champion. It should be a great championship bout. I think Manyo and Woodard, Jericho, or the freshman Brettrager will make it out on the other half of the consolation bracket.

160
Royal Brettrager (Kirtland) v. Nate Arp (Ledgemont)
Rob Abramoff (Hawken) v. Noah McGowan (Newbury)

Notes: I think the best two wrestlers here will meet in the semifinals, with Arp battling Brettrager. Brettrager is 12-1 on the year. I'm biased, but I'll take him. Abramoff should make it to the final on the other half of the bracket. I like the freshman Wellington's chances to possibly qualify over McGowan through the consolation bracket.

171
Nick Zele (Kirtland) v. Dan Kotula (VASJ)
Cam Murray (Hawken) v. Alec Greenhouse (Berkshire)

Notes: Both semifinal bouts look to be very close and these seem to be the top four wrestlers at this weight class unless Gault breaks in versus the Murray/Greenhouse semifinal loser.

189
Tim Straus (Kirtland) v. Nick Viola (VASJ)
Ben Murch (Ledgemont) v. Kyle Noch (Newbury)

Notes: Straus beat Viola in a dual in a very competitive match. Murch beat Viola in overtime at Hawken. Thus, I forsee a Straus versus Murch final with Straus taking the title in a close bout. I think Noch is fourth-best here and should qualify.

215
Adam Harkey (Kirtland) v. Travis Porter (Berkshire)
Drew Skleres (Pymatuning Valley) v. Darius Petraitis (VASJ)

Notes: Nobody else is in Porter's league. Skleres is the favorite be opposite him in the finals (he beat Petraitis by one point for third at Richmond Heights). Petraitis and Harkey will battle for third. Petraitis won by one point in their match in the dual.

285
Don Stocum (Kirtland) v. Tripper Duscherer (Cardinal)
Aaron Brown (Grand Valley) v. Ray Wert (VASJ)

Notes: Like Porter at 215, nobody here is in Stocum's league. Brown should be opposite him in the final. I like Duscherer over Wert or Wickliffe's McHugh in the third place bout.
