After relaxing yesterday I just wanted to thank Buckeye Nation for believing in Myles this year and cheering him on to a National Title As I said before I won't be posting on here much because of the internet trolls and I have no time for the lies people tell while hiding behind a key board because although I can handle it I never would want to do anything to hurt my son because he is genuinely loved by so many people If anybody every comes in contact with him they all come away and say how humble and respectful he is More people rave about him off the mat than they do on the mat. As proud as I am of his accomplishments I was even more proud of so many strangers coming up to me in NYC all week end long and telling me what a great humble respectful young man he is and how engaging he is with people and telling me their stories . Unless folks no your journey they have no idea what you have been though to get there or what type of person you really are. I have said many things over the years but those that know me know that I am a pretty open and straight shooter type guy which sometimes may get me in trouble but it is what it is One thing I caught alot of flack for this year from some fans was my son shirting because I stated that in public and to Coach Ryan and he knew my position so it was no secret and he did not have a problem with it He knows how open and honest my family is about things however if you watched Myles interview you can probably now understand why as a dad who loves his son why I would want him too red shirt and unless my son told me he was mentally ready that is the way I felt and once he told me himself he was ready over Christmas break I was on board with it Some folks don't understand the type of man Coach Ryan is because I don't believe any Coach in the country engages with his parents as Coach Ryan does so I will tell you myself because any recruit not considering Ohio State better take another look if they looking for a total experience on and off the mat I'm not a overbearing wrestling dad as some would like to think and to be honest I will tell anybody Myles and myself rarely talked wrestling growing up because I was not his coach and I did not wrestle I played basketball and thats the God's honest truth I let the coaches coach him I just took him where he needed to go and after matches win lose or draw it was let's go get ice cream I'm just a dad that loves his children and would sacrifice the world for them but What blew me a way all weekend was here I was at Madison Square Garden the biggest tournament all season long and Coach Ryan is texting me after matches This man is amazing is all I can say and as great of coach as he is He is a better person and thats what I want for my son I have so much more to say and I will be on and off through out the day today to talk about some awesome experiences I had over this year but before closing right now I want to thank God for allowing my son to fulfill a dream and also say what a great competitor Bo Nickal is In life whether its wrestling or something else you need people to push you to overcome challenges and to become great and Bo Nickal did that for my son this year but he is a great wrestler Last two words KYLE SNYDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen.
You do realize you're a celebrity now as you had lots of face time on national TV.
The interviews with Myles on Flo were fantastic. He comes across as a young man with class, character and intelligence. You are right to feel proud.

Mr. Martin, although I have never met your son I was extremely impressed with his interview. He seems like such a humble, respectful, and well-spoken young man.
His match with Nickal will forever live in the memories of us Buckeye fans. What tremendous heart he showed!
I am so happy he chose Ohio State. Coach Ryan is to be commended for recruiting guys with quality character. Nate, Bo, Myles, Kyle, and others are shining examples of that.
Next year will be loads of fun to watch Myles and the rest of the team compete. On paper, we look loaded for bear...or should I say Nittany Lion?
God bless!

I'm not prone to hyperbole, but when Myles threw Nickal that was my favorite ever NCAA moment (aside from Luke's wins).
Mr. Martin - sincere congrats. What an effort.

I'll admit I was bummed out after Tomasello and Bo came so, so close to making the finals, and Myles was the underdog in his match with Nickal, but when he threw him on his back I was literally shouting at the TV, and couldn't stop saying YES, YES, YES!!!! I could hear the fans in MSG going crazy. It totally changed the tournament for me. Then the icing on the cake came when Kyle Synder took down Gwiz. But after all, he is a World Champion. What a night. I really enjoyed watching Myles evolve as a wrestler over the course of the season, especially his ability to RIDE. Loved the Hammond match, every time Bryce would get to his feet, back down he went. I didn't see that tenacity early in the season. WOW! And he's only going to get better with time.

I've never met Myles and I'm proud of him. I can only imagine how you must feel. I went completely out of my skull when he near falled Nickal. My favorite wrestling moment of the year, by far. Congratulations!

I watch the NCAA finals every year with family. All Buckeyes. When Myles made "the throw" we went berserk in my house. YES! HE'S INBOUNDS! YES! BACKS! HELL YES! My brother-in-law and I were hugging.
It was euphoric. So happy for Myles.
It is my #2 most exciting wrestling moment I've watched (only because I was 1st row in St John for "Rowlands pinned Crump")
Congrats!!!

That's the same scene as my house Saturday night. After "The Throw", I was yelling "He got four swipes!!!" My 11-year old daughter ran into the room thinking her dad lost his mind. Then she asked me, "Dad what are swipes and how come you got so excited about four of them?" Still jacked up thinking about that sequence.

Greg: We are all so proud for you and Myles. Your joy was pretty evident on the TV screen.
As someone on here said before, we haven't had much opportunity to hear Myles speak in interviews, and I too, was very impressed with his demeanor and intelligence with the camera rolling. The bright lights can make even the most experienced communicators get tongue-tied sometimes. Myles was impressive on the mat, and off of it!
CONGRATULATIONS!

Mr. Martin...My opposition to pulling your son's red-shirt are well documented. Please understand that has nothing to do with your son, his obvious talent or his work ethic. He did everything that was asked of him and more. He accomplished something truly special and no one can take that away from him. Your pride is well deserved. He seems like an outstanding young man. Congratulations to you and yours on an amazing season.

Watched the finals with some wrestling friends (one had wrestled for Ohio State) at a wine bar run by a wrestling coach. Bunch of folks were sitting behind us. One by one, as they refilled their glasses, they started asking us questions about what was going on. We explained everything and they crept up to the bar to watch. When Martin hit his toss, we all erupted and I explained why how long he held him on his back mattered. Then we went into detail about how important it was for him to ride out Nickal for the final 20 seconds of the period. When he pulled it off, I explained that in all likelihood the match was over and that Martin had just pulled a huge upset. Will Knight took over, talked about wrestling at Ohio State and said how Martin's pic would be on the wrestling room wall forever. "He's on the wall, he's on the wall..."
When Snyder won, a half dozen people--none of whom had intended to watch when the night began--were screaming "he's on the wall." Great time....great moment.
