Absolutely one in a generation wrestler.
The way he wins, the way he lives his life humbly, the way he lost to Gadsden freshman year, and his simply incredible gift of talent that he works so hard at makes him, in my opinion, one of the greatest of all time right now.
He wins, he works hard. He loses, he works hard. He is passionate about what he does.
Everyone talks about Bruce B. and J. Smith with great reverence as well and they should but this run, given his age and level of camp, has been outstanding.

I frequently write too much when I post, but I have no words to describe how impressive Snyder is/has been. On perhaps the best World Team in USA history, he was the best wrestler on that squad...and he's like 21! He wrestles with a poise and skill that America has rarely seen. The way he approaches the sport reminds me of one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, Dave Schultz (that is as big a compliment I can give). He's got the skill and the technique and the strategy, but he's also got the brute force and take-no-shit attitude that our sport often requires. All of that wrapped up in a package that is a phenomenal embassador for the sport. I can't think of anything this young man could do better, there simply nothing to criticize. Even his loss in the NCAA finals his freshman years, in retrospect, was handled with such grace that it just adds to his legend.
On a personal note, I'm so grateful that he chose tOSU. I'm grateful that I can say I got to watch him live...I got to watch him compete. I'll go to more matches this year knowing his time at the university is coming to an end. I'll miss it when he's gone.
Congratulations Mr Snyder. You are a once in a generation talent.

Kyle Snyder, Jordan Burroughs and the rest of the USA team put together arguably the finest performance in American history. I know there have been a few other great ones but it certainly feels like Kyle defeating Sadualev for the championship--star against star--makes this one extra special. Coupled with the Jr squads world title, a Jr World Championship in Greco and the brilliant Helen Maroulis, this has been an absolutely incredible group of days for American fans of wrestling.
Just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge one specific team member--Logan Stieber. Logan's career has been stunning and he has set a stellar example for Ohio wrestlers to follow in terms of how to be successful both as an athlete and a role model. His accomplishments at Worlds were not measured in medals but in his mere presence and all he stands for as a competitor and human being. Congrats to him on his Team World Title. It will look nice next to his individual world title and 4 NCAA championships.
