Discussion Topic: OU's Freshman Class
Ethan Moore added to this discussion on February 27, 2008

I am a big OU wrestling fan, and this has been a real tough year. Due to a myriad of reasons, several people have had to jump into the role of starter before they were ready. Regardless, I know there are no excuses being made by the team or the staff, so I won't offer up any as a fan.

Having said that, I believe this years freshman class was very, very solid, and there is a write up on the OU site that details there success in open compeitions.

In addition to the 10 or RS Freshman who competed, Germain Lindsey and Erik Schuth also had solid seasons as true freshman thrust into the lineup. Lindsey, in particular, has wrestled some very close matches with top level competitors, including an OT loss to ranked Lashaway and an 8-7 loss to top 10 Caramanica from NC St.

I think this is a glimpse into a future that will be much brighter than this year. While they will be VERY young next year, many of these fine freshman should be in the line up, making the team much more exciting to watch.
