true, imo ... i saw Mike in July, age 95 at family gathering, he has a great family who love him dearly. His retirement in 1977 was end of an era, the dual meet era, the public school era, the strong family era that produced generations of wrestlers, the peak of the American blue collar/good jobs era-- alot has changed.
one small gaff, Pat Milkovich did win one state title, in 1971 at 126. PatG said he never won one. But very nice article.

"From 1949 to 1977, he coached the Mustangs to 16 undefeated seasons, 10 state championships, nine state runner-up finishes and had 37 individual state champions. His teams' overall record in dual meets was 262-25-2 (a .912 winning percentage).
All were state records at the time he retired in 1977. Milkovich also guided the Mustangs to a record 103 consecutive dual meet victories from 1963-72 (still a record)."
One public school. No open enrollment.

"Richmond Heights?"

Nope, but Valley Forge and Richmond Heights are both good guesses.

My second guess is Cleveland Heights. After that I am not very sure (which happens a lot in trivia situations).

Lyndhurst Brush (however, as I get older I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast so hopefully someone on the forum can confirm that)

Wasn't Buddy Young the coach of Brush at the time? As a kid I really enjoyed watching him coach, he got into the match more so than his wrestlers.

Brush? Any info on their then-coach and line-up would be appreciated.

The article posted to themat.com yesterday said the following:
"He developed and published a practice plan for both high school and college coaches. His book on how to teach wrestling sold thousands of copies. A video tape series on wrestling techniques received nationwide acclaim."
Anyone know if any of those works are available online somewhere? I don't mind if I have to pay for it; I'm very curious to see them. When I tried searching for it, nearly every result was for the recent book about him, "Mustang."
