Scott, would you be the same Scott Shaw that went to Claymont HS back in the early 90's?

No Mike, I am not. We are pretty close to the same age though. I remember seeing his name in the State program the same year as mine at least one year. I don't know how many times he qualified but that was around the time that Claymont won their state team title so they were very tough and I am sure that he qualified more than once.
Hank, I agree completely, that is why I wrote a letter to the sports editor and told him what a great article it was. My letter to Mr. Stein was published in the Sunday Dispatch (that I didn't get because of the blizzard.)

He was 130/135 by the time he was a senior. I think he took 4th??? in the state his senior year. His older brother Craig was a state runner-up at 119 in the early 90's.

That's right. He lost to Ambroziak and Bailey (I think). I had the "pleasure" of wrestling him twice when I was a freshman and he was a senior. Talk about overmatched. He had a cousin (Jason) who while not nearly as talented was still good. Got to wrestle him a couple times my sophmore year. I was happy to see that family finally graduate. By the way, Brad, where did you go to high school? Carrollton?

Thank you Erik. I just try to bring attention to our great sport and it's leaders as much as I can and this article just seemed like an opportunity to do that.

Yes, I wrestled for Carrollton in the early to mid 90's. I also was on the end of major decision loss to Scott when he was a senior. Did you wrestle for Dover(???) and have a brother, as well? I think that I remember either you or your brother in my weight class at an open back in the early to mid 90's.

Yep, that's me. I have a twin brother (Matt) who took 3rd at state in 96. Me? Well, I choked at districts. Made state as a junior and then lost focus as a senior at the district tourney. Talk about something that stays with you for a long time. I remember talking to you one time (probably at the NBC tournament). I had seen your picture in the news paper and we started talking about the "fun" you and I had wrestling Scott Shaw. Nice hearing from you again. I don't remember wrestling you at any opens, so it might have been Matt.
