We’ll do the normal updates/coverage, but first a really good topic brought up on Yappi...
What advice would you give to parents traveling to Fargo for this event for the first time?

Being from MN, I'd say don't plan a vacation before / after the tournament. Nothing to do. Literally. :-)

(from what i posted on Yappi:)
Roger Maris buried near airport, he broke what at the time was baseballs most sacred record, Babe Ruth's 60 HRs. Black headstone shaped like homeplate engraved: "61 in '61".
The Bison's Turf nearby the Dome, campus hangout, beer & burgers, some local atmosphere.
The Timberwood Lodge near West Acres Mall near motels where alot of teams stay has nice woodsy atmosphere, good steaks, fish, full bar.
The Penalty Box lounge in the Select Inn in same area, just a bar but they have blackjack game which is legal in ND.
not many fans in Dome, but every college and alot of big name coaches there. ..bring fly repellant, the flies in the Dome are killers, apparently they love that sweaty singlet smell..... and binoculars, there are 23 mats and u will be in the stands looking over a crowded floor to find your sons match.
Fargo citizens are as nice people as u will ever meet. Alot of them descendants of Scandinavia & Germany. Listen to the accents.
There may be "nothing to do" but Fargo is growing, name companies moving in/expanding, i noticed adding another lane to a major highway. Red River runs thru Fargo, some of the richest soil anywhere, made lot of millionaires (sugar beets) esp when USA closed trade with Cuba.

Admittedly I don’t know some of the cadets all that well, but it seems like Ohio is well represented in the light weights. 195lb returning state champ Seth Shumate looks to be in good position to take gold in his prospective weight. The highly touted rising sophomore certainly seems to be the next big thing in Ohio wrestling.

in a sense Cadets are better watching than Junior Nationals, because u see the rising stars whereas trend in the past decade in Junior Nationals is for most of the best graduated seniors not to participate. So Jr Ntls down some from how it was in the 90s when there were fewer wt classes & more quality entries. ....Sonny Marchette beat a huge contingent, when he unfurled his chart from the top of the podium it ran out well out on to the floor.
the hungriest group are Seniors-to-be, thats where the action is, to garner that offer they want so bad. Coaches like John Smith sometimes offer on the spot.

Looks like the wheels came off in the semi-final and consi rounds. Two in the finals (Shumate included), and six other AAs. PA looks to have wrapped it up with Ohio battling it out with Minnesota for 2nd.
