Dan Cosimi added to this discussion on July 19, 2019

In the 16U Greco-Roman competition in Fargo, six wrestlers from Ohio earned All-America honors and one, Seth Shumate, won a national championship. As a team, Ohio finished in twelfth place overall in the 45-team field, just two points from a top ten finish.

Seth Shumate, an incoming sophomore at Coffman High School in Dublin, went 5-0 -- a pin in 35 seconds, a tech in 36 seconds, a tech in 52 seconds, a tech in 70 seconds, and a pin in 3:53 -- to win the national championship at 195 pounds. Earlier this week, he won the 16U Boys' Freestyle national championship, adding his name to the elite group of double national champions in Ohio wrestling history. This spring, Shumate was the USA Wrestling-Ohio 16U Greco-Roman and Boys' Freestyle State Champion. In March, he earned his first All-Ohio honor by winning the OHSAA Division I State Championship at 195 pounds.

Colin Roberts, an incoming junior at Austintown-Fitch High School, went 6-1 to place third in the country at 126 pounds. This spring, he placed third at the USA Wrestling-Ohio 16U Greco-Roman and Boys' Freestyle State Championships. In March, Roberts qualified for the OHSAA Division I State Championships at 113 pounds after also qualifying as a freshman at 106 pounds.

Riley Ucker, an incoming sophomore at Coffman High School in Dublin, went 5-3 to place sixth in the nation at 220 pounds. Earlier this week, he placed fifth the 16U Boys' Freestyle, making him one of only three wrestlers from Ohio at any weight class to earn double All-America honors at the 16U level. This spring, Ucker was the USA Wrestling-Ohio 16U Greco-Roman and Boys' Freestyle State Champion. In March, he qualified for the OHSAA Division I State Championships at 220 pounds.

Marlon Yarbrough, an incoming junior at Copley High School, went 5-3 to place eighth in the country at 106 pounds. This spring, he was the USA Wrestling-Ohio 16U Greco-Roman State Champion and placed third in 16U Boys' Freestyle at 100 pounds. In March, he went 2-2 at the OHSAA Division I District Tournament at William H. Hoover High School at 113 pounds -- so he was wrestling up a weight class in a spot in Copley's lineup between All-Ohioan (fifth place) Zane Van Voorhis and 16U Boys' Freestyle All-American (third place) Kyren Butler.

Gunner Endicott, an incoming sophomore at Elmwood High School, went 4-3 to place eighth in the country at 160 pounds. This spring, he was the USA Wrestling-Ohio 16U Greco-Roman State Champion and placed second in 16U Boys' Freestyle. In March, Endicott was an alternate for the OHSAA Division III State Championships at 145 pounds.

Ryan Elrod, an incoming sophomore at Saint John School in Ashtabula, went 3-3 to place eighth in the country at 285 pounds. Earlier this week, he placed eighth the 16U Boys' Freestyle, making him one of only three wrestlers from Ohio at any weight class to earn double All-America honors at the 16U level. In the spring, Elrod was the USA Wrestling-Ohio 16U Greco-Roman and Boys' Freestyle State Champion. In March, he qualified for the OHSAA Division III State Championships at 285 pounds.
