Discussion Topic: Super 32 Champ Cantu is a Buckeye Commit

Santos Cantu, an Oregon prep, just won the Super 32 at 195 lbs. Evidently, he verballed to Ohio State on September 29. Both InterMat and Flo have confirmed it. Interestingly, he is now ranked ahead of Seth Shumate at the same weight after Shumate had a lousy Super 32. Cantu is a senior while Shumate is a sophomore.
Where was Dano on this one?

Shumate: Super32...bad weekend? a chink in the armour? not in in-season form? great in-state but nationally not where we thought???
Interesting if Ohio State went after 195lber with Hoffman, Jordan, and Singletary all pretty young.
Whatevs.
Go Buckeyes!

Don't forget Shumate is just going into just his sophomore year. Hard to be an elite young upperweight.

Very true. No attempt at shade; just wondering. He being a Central district kid, I hope he wins everything he enters.

another upperwt commit, Nick Boykin. Dan Fickel tells me he won Tennessee state titles as a sophomore and junior and had good success in Fargo. He spent his senior year of high school (2017) at the OTC.
