You’re move, D-I NCAA wrestling.

Just saw it on TR twitter. I'll say this, those Cubans are tough wrestlers. Look forward to seeing him in a Buckeye singlet. This could make up for losing Kerkvliet. Just wonder if he is a 157? He was 145 in the summer.

I don't know how to copy stuff off Twitter to here, but Tom Ryan confirms Echemendia will be a Buckeye come May 2020.

Now set your focus on Ayala and/or Richie Figs.

Rob, check out Echemendia's twitter account where he's going TD's with Kinner. He has stuff we don't see a lot, and he has some sweet upper body throws.

He's making Kinner look like a rag doll.....Literally.

As we know Kinner is no slouch either- hopefully they are wrestling so he could help Kinner get back down to 141 b/c it officially appears 157 is Echemendia real estate.

I don’t do Twitter, but is Echemendia that big (157)? If so, and that leaves 141 open, might we see Decatur move up? Seems like his cut this year was pretty difficult. Buckeyes need to recruit 125 and 133 pretty hard if he does.

In my opinion, QK is an AA at 141.

Don- I think the team would prefer Decatur stay at 133 because of the middleweight talent(s). That is obvioduly easier said than done, but a move I think everyone prefers. Ech looks like he could fill out 157 very well; besides, Sasso has earned the #1 ranking at 149- he shouldn't have to move if he doesn't want too.

Roe- I sure hope you're right. I still havent seen Kinner wrestle enough to agree with you quite yet. If OSU could somehow snag a 125 somewhere for next year (Figs/Poulin/Ayala all juniors) I truly believe they could compete right with Iowa next year. (PSU & others a distant 3rd)

That video was crazy. He made Kinner look like a JV. Maybe I'm crazy but he looks to have title contender talent right now.

Do yourself a favor and go back and watch some of AE’s Fargo matches and his who’s number one match. Victor Voinavich was probably the only person I saw get a takedown on him. He doubled up in Greco and Freestyle junior titles and tech’s or pinned nearly everyone on the way to the title. At who’s number one he dismantled super Cornel recruit Josh Saunders 10-0 (who has Fargo titles as well as cadet and junior world team accolades). The question now is where does he land weight wise. He won a state title in Arizona last year at 152. He won Fargo at 145, and he wrestled who’s number one at 65 kg. This summer will definitely be telling. I’d think, if his citizenship status permits, we’d see him try some form of world team trial for juniors or U23 based on however old he is. If he sticks at 65 I wonder 141 might be a landing spot; however I would not be surprised if Sammy slid up to 157. Word was that he looked really big last summer. I know we’ve known he was coming for a while, but for it to become official is a substantial pickup not only for the Bucks but the RTC as well.

I've thought Sasso to 157 makes sense and he seems to be cutting pretty hard to make 149 (more evident at dual meets).
125-Malik
133-Decatur/Koontz (if J.D. can't make the cut he can RS)
141-Kinner/Echemendia
149-Echemendia/Kinner
157-Sasso
165-Karchla
174-Romero/Smith
184-Rocky/Romero
197-Singletary/Hoffman
285-Traub/Hoffman
