I not sure if this helps, or hurts, but here are my thoughts on how it would have played out…

125 – Malik isn’t beating Hildebrandt, but he does take out Cronin this time on the backside. He has a shot to upset Courtney or DiAugustino, but I don’t think he does. 1-2, .5 points.

Overall, Spencer Lee walks to a title, with his closest match being 6 points over Glory in the finals.

133 – Rivers over RBY in the semis, with Gross over DeSanto on bottom. Rivera takes the title.

141 – Pletcher gets to the finals with nothing closer than 5 points. Wilson gives Lee a scare in the second round, and Woods takes him out in the semis. This time Pletcher gets the takedown in regulation, and wins his national championship. 5-0, 23 points.

149 – Sammy learns that his conservative ways cost him in the B1G finals, and he comes out attacking. He beats Kolodzik 3-2 and Lee (who knocks off O’Connor) 5-3, before taking out Lugo 5-3 in the finals. 5-0, 21 points.

157 – Deakin walks to the finals for a rematch with Carr, who takes out Hidlay in the bottom semi. Northwestern gets its second champ.

165 – Smith beats McCormick but loses, again, to White. On the backside he wins 2 and then loses in the bloodround to McFadden. 3-2, 3 points.

Marinelli beats Wick in the quarter and Wittlake in the semi to reach the finals. On the bottom, Griffith gives Cenzo a battle, but the Nittany Lion comes out on top. Marinelli has the better leg attacks, and avoids getting thrown, and wins a title. That gives Iowa 2, OSU 2 and Northwestern 2 champs. It also gives PSU 0 champs.

174 – Romero wins his first two, but falls short against Kutler. In the bloodround he knocks off Mantanona to become an All-American. He beats Skatzka again, and finally gets a win over Lydy. He takes 4th, losing to Kutler again. 5-2, 14.5 points.

Unfortunately, Hall gets PSU off the schnide and picks up his 2nd title over Kemerer.

184 – Rocky beats Wilson but then loses once again to Brooks. He wins 1 in the consis, but then loses to Assad. 2-2, 1.5 points.

Lujan close over Deprez in the top semi, Caffey over Brooks and then Bolen in the bottom semi. Lujan gets the title.

197 – Moore goes tech, major to start. He then faces Norfleet, who has given him fits. A controlled Moore grinds out a 7-4 win. In the semis, he handles Darmstadt, and finishes off his senior year with a 9-6 victory over Noah Adams. 5-0, 22.5 points.

285 – GTG picks up a first round upset win with the entire crowd in Minnesota chanting his name. He loses to Cass, again, and then picks up a win in the consis. He knocks off Gremmel to make the bloodround, where he comes up just short against Jordan Wood. 3-2, 2 points.

Steveson over Parris 8-6 in the finals.

The Bucks would score 108 points, putting them 3rd, and have 3 champs, 4 All Americans, with 2 others losing in the bloodround, and every wrestler there winning at least a match. I would take that in a heartbeat.

He told me when he was 9 or 10 that he was gonna be a NC one day. Hurts to not see at least a chance. Woulda loved, LOVED to see him on the podium - and watching him accomplish a dream. Helps to know, not just your thoughts but seeing him perform at the B1G’s, that he was on the way to the podium.

InterMat had Kaleb ranked 6th, with 1 through 5 all Seniors. I take that into the off season as a big positive for next season.

The cancellation of the post season tournament is a conspiracy by the the Penn State alum association, the CEO of Charmin, and the Ramen noodle company. All kidding aside , I was excited to watch this team compete and see where the chips fall. Next year is going to be crazy. Iowa returns everyone, PSU might be even better next year, Cornel is going to be lights out, Oklahoma State should be improved, and Nebraska loses very little. I’m curious where that places the Bucks. There are some real questions facing a lineup that returns no All Americans (obviously a skewed statement).
-Will Malik finally make a jump?
-Who will man 133? Will Decatur redshirt?
-Who replaces Pletcher?
-Where does Enchemendia fit? Will Sammy move up?
-Will there finally be an answer for 157
-Who will be the odd man out for the Karchla, Smith, Romero trifecta.
-Will Hoffman stick around? Will he improve, and who fills in for Kollin Moore?

I’m thinking your trio of Karchla, Smith and Romero should be expanded by one to include Rocky Jordan. I see those four competing for three weights if Romero would choose to bump.
But not to worry, I understand “The Gas Tank” has another year of eligibility.

If you're on twitter, there is an account under the name Virtual NCAAs (@vNcaas) that is running the tournament virtually. Honestly not sure if they are just making shit up or actually running them through a program.

Either way, the Bucks went 7-1 in the first round, with Malik losing in OT. I really only went through and looked at OSU results, so not sure if they are calling many upsets, although GTG winning would be one, technically.

It looks like this is a different thing because the team race is different, but Trackwrestling posted a recap after "Session 1" of Quant Wrestling's simulated tournament: https://www.trackwrestling.com/PortalPost.jsp?postId=778610135. Looks like they actually have the "tournament" on Track: https://www.trackwrestling.com/predefinedtournaments/MainFrame.jsp?newSession=false&TIM=1584656795462&pageName=.

I hadn't heard much about Quant Wrestling until now, but it looks like their simulation is based on some serious statistical modeling.

Not sure what the @vNCAAs is based off of.

Yes, you are right. After looking at it closer, they don't even have some of the right guys in the right position in the brackets. All the math in the world won't make up for that.

It’s fun to see the reactions of athletes following the virtual NCAA post. He has the Bucks with three AA’s. Luke and Kollin in the finals w/ Kaleb in the consi semis. Train loses in the blood round along with Malik. Ethan, Rocky, and Sammy are all 1-2
