While wrestling remains on hold it provides lots of opportunity for analyzing and speculating. I saw a Coach Myers workout video posted with Kollin and Kaleb participating in an old school gym workout. Romero looked big!!! A recent FRL speculated about a move up as well. I personally think he stays at 174, but what do you like better?
165: Karchla 174: Smith 184:Romero.
Or
166: Karchla 174: Romero 184: Jordan
I think the least likely is the weights that were rolled out this past season.
On a second speculative front did anyone see that Garrett Hoffman transferred to Indiana? Seems unlikely that Gavin starts at heavy, but I give him a shot at being the man at 197, albeit less than 50%. Is there any outside shot that he transfers out and ends up with his brother?

From what I have been reading on some forums it sounds like Karchla may be looking to go 174. I have also heard he does not like to have to cut weight. I have no issue with any athlete wrestling at a weight they are comfortable and can be successful, may the best man win. Based on that I’m thinking we might see 165-Smith, 174-Karchla. That leaves Romero to wrestle off Carson or get bigger and move up to 184 to wrestle off with Jordan. Either way it seems we have 4 guys competing for 3 weights. Next two weights should be covered by Singletary at 197 and, likely Orndorff at heavy, with Hoffman and Traub in the mix. How about the bottom half of the lineup?

A new insider board on buckeye scoop said the coaches told them Carson and Ethan will wrestle off for 65 and the loser to challenge Romero at 74.
Plan for rest of the lineup
125 Heinselman
133 Decatur
141 Enchemedia/ D’Emilio
149 Sasso
157 Kinner, Freeman, someone just came from a Mormon mission I believe last name was white?
184 Rocky however it was talk that he has gotten considerably bigger.
197 Singletary/Hoffman
285 Ornsdoff/Traub

157 could be Isaac Wilcox, a pretty highly rated recruit from a couple years ago out of Utah.

Which Decatur are we talking about here? Does anyone really think Jordan Decatur can wrestle 133 next year? He looked gassed after about 60-90 seconds into just about every match that I saw this past season. I assume this was because of the weight cut. So unless he tries the Colt Sponseller diet where he ran long distances/marathons to presumably lose muscle mass in an attempt to get to 157, I don't see how it works at 133

Also to note....Keyshawn Hayes was granted a 6th year...Hasn’t decided if he’s going to wrestle or not yet.

Wilcox was slatted to come in with the 2018 class with like of Sasso and that whole crew if memory serves. He was a top 100 recruit for sure and was perhaps ranked top five at 160 when he came out of Utah as a three time state champ. The Mormon mission thing would make total sense considering that he just up and disappeared. Some of the video I remember seeing was of a shorter real stocky well built kid. He was a little overmatched in Vegas in a match or two where he wrestled highly touted guys. That’s certainly not a name I was expecting to hear heading into next year. Is Cleary still around? As far as Keyshawn is concerned, at some point you probably have to start looking at quality of life. The guy is just removed from two, perhaps even three major surgeries in the last five years. As much as I’d love to see him get on the podium I think he’s better off moving on.
