Discussion Topic: No schedule, should we be concerned?

MAC schools, ACC schools, and other conferences released their schedules weeks ago. Big ten basketball is almost ten games deep. We have a tentative big ten tournament date and NCAA date along with rumors of a mid January start date. There aren’t even rumors about potential dual matchups floating around on Hawkeye report or B & W, which to me suggests that coaches know nothing. I hate being a conspiracy theorists, but I can’t for the life of me figure out what the Big Ten is doing here. I’m 100% for safety, but the recent Big Ten decisions connected to football do not leave me feeling confident in the commissioners office and his ability to get this off the ground.

Yeah, almost January and nothing from the Big Ten. I saw Okla St. starts their season in mid January. This is looking like what happened in football. It's obviously not an NCAA thing, but a Big Ten problem. ???? Come on already!!

So if that's the case schedules should be getting released any time now. Hopefully TR will provide an update on wrestle-offs as well.

Miracles do come true!!!
1/17 Tri @ Illinois w/ Wiscy
1/24 vs Rutgers
1/29 vs MSU
1/31 @ Maryland
2/7 Tri @ Purdue w/ Iowa
2/12 @ Michigan
2/19 vs Penn State
Three home duals, two Tri’s. Bucks should be 5-0 before rolling into the meat of their schedule. I saw Willy Saylor tweeted something about Flo not having the rights to carry the Big Ten duals this season. Anyone have any info?

I just saw Iowa's schedule, all Big Ten teams starting Jan. 15. They show Iowa, Purdue & OSU wrestling Feb. 7 at Purdue. They have another 3 team dual listed also (Iowa, Mich & Illinois), with a total of 9 duals all together.

Wrestle offs January 9th.
Ech vs. D'Emilio at 141
Smith vs. Romero at 174
Singletary vs. Hoffman at 197
Orndorff vs Traud at 285.
These were the matchups 11 Warriors listed. No indication if they will be streamed.

This shows just how far TR has brought TOSU in the depth area. All very good wrestlers and half will sit on the bench.

Ech, Romero, Singletary, Orndorff. My guesses on winners. Least sure about Ech over Dylan.

Anyone know if the wrestle off will be streamed? I’m definitely curious to see what D’Emilio looks like, and how Enchemendia’s mat game is coming along. I think the most telling thing about this wrestle off list is who’s not listed. Smith is going back up to 174. I thought for sure he would stay down at 165 to wrestle off Karchla, apparently not. I’m most interested to see Hoffman vs Singletary. I very much want to see Hoffman’s lofty recruiting profile come to fruition, but likewise you have to be pulling for a guy like Chase after the year he had last season. Will the drop in weight class have a negative impact on Singletary’s energy levels? Although I love GtG like everyone else I think Orndorf is a more complete wrestler. It’s time to finally get excited about NCAA wrestling again!!

Agreed! I also think in a season where sickness and quarantining will play a role in dual meet outcomes the Buckeyes depth will serve as a competitive advantage as they navigate the dual season.
