My thoughts...

Illinois
125 - Justin Cardani
Malik lost to Cardani in OT at the dual and then beat him at the B1G tourney. Cardani had a nice win over Hudkins from IU last weekend.  Malik needs to start strong. I think Malik gets this one.
OSU 3 - IU 0

133 - Lucas Byrd
Battle of Ohio prep stars here. I can't pick Jordan until I see him improve this year.
OSU 3 - IU 3

141 - Dylan Duncan
Big test for D'Emilio off the bat.   Duncan is tough and Dylan will have to be at his best.  Duncan is 1 TD too much for the frosh.
OSU 3 - IU 6

149 - Michael Carr
I believe this will be Sammy's first matchup with Carr since Carr ducked him at the dual last year. I think Sammy gets the dub with his superior scrambling.

OSU 6 - IU 6

157 - Johnny Mologousis
I don't know much about Mologousis.  It's his 4th year in the program, and no notable results that I saw. I'm favoring Cleary by RT or a TD.
OSU 9 - IU 6

165 - Dan Braunagel
Smith beat Braunagel last year in the dual, and if he's full strength, I think he does it again. However, who knows how his cut is going though, and if he can't make it, then it's probably Freeman or Wilcox. I'm giving this to Braunagel because of uncertainty.
OSU 9 - IU 9

174 - Trey Sizemore
Romero should win this and bonus points would be nice. I think Kaleb pours it on in the third and gets the major.
OSU 13 - IU 9

184 - Zach Braunagel
Rocky won the dual matchup last year and I can't recall if they wrestled at B1Gs. I'm giving Rocky a decision.
OSU 16 - IU 9

197 - Matt Wrobeleski
I favor Hoffman or Singletary over Wrobeleski here. Probably a decision unless Singletary goes and gets work done on top.
OSU 19 - IU 9

285 - Luke Luffman
Gas Tank Gary whooped Luffman last year, and I think Orndorff gets a major as well.
OSU 23 - IU 9

There are very few solid favorites in this match, with OSU being the heavy fav at 174 and 285.  Beyond that, all the other weights are toss ups with slight favorites.

Wisconsin
I was going to do a breakdown, but I'm not sure who is wrestling for Wisconsin. OSU should win this dual as well, similarly to Illinois. 125 and 285 favor Wisconsin, 149, 174, 184 all favor OSU and the others are toss ups or unknown.

Good news too, in that the meet will be broadcast on BTNplus, which gives you a one month pass for $9.95

Ohio state looking extremely sluggish in the early going. No sense of urgency from the bottom, no explosion, no movement. Losing to mid range guys like the Bronacles does no favors for seeding in a shortened dual season.

Going to be a long season. They look absolutely terrible.

Interesting set-up. 1/2 duals on each mat.

Does OSU realize they have to wrestle today? Yikes.

The members of this board had as many takedowns against Illinois today as the starting 184, 197 and 285 for Ohio state. Absolutely pathetic.

Who is running the scoreboard? Man are they bad. They are having all kinds of trouble with keeping the riding time correct.

What you say is true and when you say it this way, maybe Aaron Rodgers isn’t correct.

Bucks lose 15-18 to #21 Illinois. Firstly, I’ll hand it to the Illini...they came ready to wrestle and clearly wanted this W. They won all the toss up matches and closed out every match in pretty dominant fashion, many times riding the Bucks out for the last 30 seconds of a match. The only real positive take aways for the Bucks were Malik getting a solid win, and Sammy decking a formidable Mike Carr. Jordan Decatur had no answers for Lucas Byrd, and D’Emilio just ran out of gas against the backup 141 (either way not good). Rocky got rode like a rented mule, and both Hoffman looked unimpressive. As far as Orndorf is concerned...welcome to the Big Ten, this isn’t the Mountain West or Big Sky conference. I liken this loss to the Virginia Tech loss last season. It’s early, and there is plenty of room for improvement. The problem is that every single match matters in these duals. Rocky Jordan losing to Bronacle could be the difference between wrestling Penn State in the first round vs Purdue.

Like you said for a lot of guys, no sense of urgency from the bottom, no explosion, no movement.

25-9 victory over Wisconsin. I know they are in a rebuild but the Badgers do not look formidable. 1-1 on the weekend. Malik looked like an improved wrestler, attacking all seven minutes. Encemendia notches a W, the more we get into his competition career O feel like expectations for Anthony have to be reduced and become more realistic. He has the goods, but he’s an incomplete folk style wrestler. Let’s give him a year and see what happens. Sasso 2-0 on the day, solid start to the season. Romero quietly does the same, possibly overshadowed by some of the subpar performances of the rest of the team. I’d imagine the Bucks will slide out of the top ten. As of today, if I’m ranking them, I have OSU behind Iowa, Michigan, and Penn State by substantial margins. To be honest I think in a dual we get clobbered by all three. Nebraska is probably slightly ahead. Purdue may be a toss up (although I don’t think they matchup well with the Bucks), and clearly Illinois. That puts Ohio State, after week one, somewhere in the fifth or sixth best Big Ten team. I think we end the Big Ten season right around 4. Illinois has started the season well, but it’s not sustainable against better teams, and they have no one that’s a finalist potentially.

Malik, Sasso, Cleary and Romero looked good. I also liked D'Emilio in spite of the finish. Losing Kharchla hurts. Smith, as usual, is making a huge cut. Brady mentioned he was up at 174 until Kharchla's injury.

I thought the decision to put Rocky Jordan on bottom in a match where he was 4 seconds from riding time was pure stupid. Rocky had scored two backs (the ref missed it) and been good on top and closer to scoring on his feet. Putting him on bottom meant a lot of hard work...and then of course he couldn't get out which compounded a bad decision. I wanted him to get the riding time. Then if his opponent got out, let's see who gets the winning TD.

I don't think Echemedia is ready for big time folkstyle. Excellent on his feet but unless he becomes great on bottom he'll be a liability.
