1 Michigan State 129
2 Ohio 125.5
3 Navy 122
4 Bucknell 115.5
5 Kent State 82.5
6 Edinboro 61.5
7 The Citadel 61
8 American 46.5
9 Lock Haven 40.5
10 Bloomsburg 33
11 Virginia Military Institute 22.5
12 Rutgers 13
Solid day for OU:
125: Sanchez, 3rd
133: Disabito, 5th
141: Hagan, 3rd
149: Hagan, 4th (DQd I think for a slam early in the tournament, didn't wrestle 3rd/4th place match)
157: Slivka, 1st (beat #20 Saldate)
165: Yinger, 4th
174: Perrine, 1st (True freshman with another good weekend)
184: Lehman, 5th
197: Greer, 5th
285: Earnest, 6th
Finished 2nd overall as a team with a top-6 placer at every weight. No clue on health of these other teams, I think OU was without a couple starters (although not certain).
Kent:
125: Ferri, 2nd
133: Fenton, 3rd
141: Newell, 6th
149: Komara, 2nd
157: Munguia, 5th
174: Ferree, 6th (lost to Perrine in 2OT)
If I missed anyone, I apologize.
I didn't know a couple of the kids wrestling for Kent, looked them up and it appears they had some solid adds via the transfer portal. Good for the kids and the program.
Again, I'm not sure of their starting line up, could be missing guys.

I heard Covid prevented CSU from going.

I am very encouraged by OU early in the season. They have a lot of kids that seem to be pretty scrappy and are winning a lot of matches. More importantly, however, is that they are out there competing. They have been bit by the injury bug the past couple of years. Hopefully they can stay healthy and keep getting these matches!

Nice job by OU. I'd like to think having Hunter Stieber in Athens is paying dividends. Regardless, a 2nd place finish right behind a rising MSU squad--and ahead of Navy--is respectable.
