In case you were wondering how Metcalf fought off the takedown attempt by Palmer late in their match...

Notice the hand hold on Palmer's singlet... <smile>

i vaguely remember something that tells me that grabing hold of a singlet is some sort of vialotion...
(I might be wrong though)

Metcalf is allowed to grab singlets, headgear and throw opponents after the whistle out of bounds. All three happen in almost every close match he ever wrestles.

The first time Palmer and Metcalf wrestled, the headgear and singlet grabbing was worse. I think Palmer was better prepared for the dirty tactics of Metcalf this time. Palmer will beat him and control the matches better the more they wrestle each other. If anyone has the ability to do it, it is Palmer. By ability, the main thing I mean is the strength (he wrestles bears <smile> ). Schlatter could do it too if he actually wrestles after the first takedown.

We were real close to sending Lance into the semi's and possibly into the finals. His matches with Metcalf are getting closer. I think he will finally beat him next year. I noticed Borroughs of Neb. attacked Metcalf with the double like Palmer did, and nearly took him down a couple of times, but Metcalf kept backpedaling off the mat. That might be Metcalf's "Achilles heal" in the long run, that power double.

Metcalf seems to dominate when he controls the motion. His setups are textbook. I think in order to beat him, you have to take that away, by dictating the pace.

I think that floating hand is Joe Heskett's. He seems to be missing his right hand in this pic:
