Did anyone else notice how the guy he wrestled purposely kept twisting it to try and make Jaggers injury default?
That's 1 out of 3 with two more to go!!!

Mendes knew what he was doing. He tried the same thing with Morgan in the semi's, trapping the foot then twisting it. J even said he turned it more after he started yelling. But J gutted it out. Tom Ryan's first National Champ, I think??

"J even said he turned it more after he started yelling."
Yeah, but J also said he would have probably done the same thing in the same situation. I don't think there was anything illegal. Just win baby.
And let's get one of the greatest quote of all time correct.
Losing wouldn't have healed it!"

I love the way he has continually shown improvement and developed as a wrestler. He is a true student of the sport. Outstanding performance. Toughness, confidence, point scoring machine, etc.

I agree. I heard it slightly different. let's get it accurate for the practice/locker rooms.

In my view there was no question the ankle wrench was intentional. He cranked it after Jaggers said something, then kept cranking. The second replay, not the first, bears this out. I think Mendes was frustrated.
I only mention this for two reasons. First, it showed true grit in Jaggers to keep going. Mendes is a monster and Jaggers just out finessed him the whole match. How many times do people post about a bad break or call that cost their wrestler a match (i.e Palmer's
dabatable
takedown with Metcalf). Jaggers didn't let that happen.
Second, it is in contrast to the Tannebaum-Perry situation where, not rooting for either wrestler, Tannenbaum clearly let go of the leg after Perry yelped.

Twisting Jaggers ankle was his last resort though...
If anyone else was in his position, 99% of the time they would have kept cranking as well.
Congrats on Jaggers for toughing it out!!!

I don't know about everyone else but I got a sick feeling in my stomach when the ankle twist happened. Way to tough it out though. Congrats to him, he earned it.
