Three Buckeyes are scheduled to compete in Mexico at the U20 worlds. Andres Gonzales (57kg), Nick Bousakis (61kg), and Nick Feldman (125kg). Gonzales was the trials runner up, so Im curious what occurred to allow him to compete. Either way that’s a great opportunity for him, and all three guys to get some great international exposure, and more importantly they train with the USA wrestling coaching staff as well as senior level athletes. Those are the types of experiences that were attributed to the massive jump made by guys like Kollin Moore during his freshman year.

Small correction... this is Pan Am's, not World's. World's are in Bulgaria in August.
Bouzakis and Feldman are on that team, Gonzales is not. I assume USAW needed a late replacement this weekend at 57kg and Andre made sense considering Feldman, Bouzakis and Stieber are already going.
Gonzales did not place at trials, so there would be at least 3 or 4 guys ahead of him even if Volk (who won trials) has to bow out.

By the way, Bouzakis is wrestling Will Betancourt in the first round.
I think there are a few people around here who will find some joy in that match...

I just watched Gonzales win 57kg final easily, and Bouzakis manhandles Betancourt again 10-0 to win gold. He used the "Logan Stieber gut wrench" to pile on the back points. The kid is a beast! Logan was there in the corner coaching both Buckeyes.
