125: #9 Heinsleman/ Gonzales v #15 Peterson
133: #13 Mendes v Britton
141: D’Emilio v Oliveri
149: #5 Sasso v White
157: Gallagher v #21 Clark
165: Wilcox v Kanniard
174: #6 Smith v Turley
184: #5 Romero v #16 Soldano
197: Geoff? v Janzer
285: #18 Orndorf/ Missista v #22 McDermitt

Bucks host the Scarlett Knights on Sunday. Rutgers has been in the news this week due to the surprising news that Sammy Alvarez was no longer with the program. Rutgers pulls the RS off of Oliveri for the second year in a row. The Bucks lineup is likely to have questions as well. 125, 165, 197, and 285 are guesses. If Hoffman can’t go it’d be nice to get a look at Geog in action a week after he was supposed to start but did not. Soldano has been in the high light reels with his wild matches. 184 should be the match of the dual of 125 doesn’t materialize.

Looks like 141 may be the best match up as Oliveri should be ranked.

Soldano at 184 will be a good one for Rutgers in due time. I hope to see Romero show the freshman the ropes a bit here.

Edit: 157 Gallagher vs. Clark will be good as well. Need Paddy to get back on track & defeat a guy just outside the top 20.

Per OSU website:
125-No. 8 Malik Heinselman (Sr.)or Andre Gonzales (r-Fr.)
165-No. 8 Carson Kharchla (r-Jr.) or Isaac Wilcox (Jr.)
197-Gavin Hoffman (r-Sr.)

Ok, maybe it’s just the beer talking, but why in god’s name is Ohio state forfeiting 174? Did they not have another one? I know it didn’t matter in the long run, but it is a bad look when a university of 65,000 is forfeiting any weight class

Romero crunching his last two opennents pleases me.

Pure speculation but I wonder if it was a late scratch. Gavin Brown was out on the mat for the line ups/handshakes. Smith definitely wasn’t.

Yep. You've got a pretty good paying crowd in attendance. Have someone take the mat.

I love Jesse Mendes. He's a baller on the mat. Seven minutes of focus, intensity and excellent technique.

Romero looked good, as he has all season. The young stud, Soldano, was looking to upset the higher ranked, more experienced senior in the first match of the dual. I’m guessing Rutgers wanted that as the lead off match. Soldano does look like an excellent young wrestler, but was “taken to school” by Romero.
Also, less concerned about no bout at 174, more concerned as to why. Hoping not another injured Buckeye.
