Discussion Topic: Kollin Moore wins Gold

Kollin recently ran through the 92kg field in Croatia this week. Bigger than the fact that he won gold is the fact that he dropped from 97kg. Cox has made it pretty clear that he is competing at 97kg. To me that puts Kollin in the driver seat to make the world team at 92kg. Thats big news for the Ohio RTC, as Evan Henderson has been very competitive as well.

Evan Henderson is no longer part of the Ohio State RTC. Unless I am misinformed.

The ORTC website only shows Dhesi and Moore as the only two wrestlers. What ever happened to them? Is it money? OSU's Nate, Snyder, Martin and Mckenna all went elsewhere to continue their FS careers.

I was just talking to several others about this. Seems like the days of the Ohio RTC being a thing are past. It’s not happenstance that the diminished RTC has coincided with the lower performance of the team since 2018. When 80% of the national team trains at Penn State with their six million dollar endowment it’s hard to compete with that. Michigan and the University of Penn have solid RTCs. Most schools are doing what the Bucks are doing. Just funding a handful of wrestlers. It appears that the model that has led to unprecedented national team success has no long term sustainability nation wide.
