Spencer Lee, great champion.
But woot for Ramos!!
Bad call giving Lee 2 pts, ridiculous that he got that call when D'Emilio didn't get the call against Woods the night before.
I know, the two are not related, but still.
I was glad to see Ramos get the win.

Burroughs as wrestler, great, one of best ever; Burroughs as announcer, amiable, knowledgeable, but still to be determined.
So far tonight, he said: 1) Everybody wrestling tonight is already an All-American. Ummm, no. 2) Ramos "foolishly" chose down in the second. Ummm, no, Lee put him down. Didn't he? Then Ramos chose neutral in the third.

Mendez Yes! True freshman All American. So gritty!
D'Emilio guts out a tough win. AA. The key was getting an escape in 2 seconds in criteria caused the tough kid from Pit to take neutral in his 30 seconds.

Woo hoo!!
D'Emilio had the toughest draw in the tourney, #1 Woods in the championship bracket then #3 Matthews in the blood round.
Great family, great kid, great competitor, could not be happier for him!!

Woods just backed his way off the mat, didn't even attempt to circle in, with Hardy taking shot after shot.
And the ref still didn't hit him for stalling, called "action" or motion or whatever it's called.
The NCAA has got to change stalling rules, way too subjective, mat by mat, ref by ref, moment by moment.
Noticed it at the Big Ten tourney, same deal here.
I'd prefer a step out rule, over this.

How did Schultz get the second point against Orndorf in the third period?

Mendez has to be in crazy shape. He just wrestled his 3rd match in a row that went to ride outs

Sorry to see Kharchla and Tate go down, in close ones, two too many seconds of riding time and a stall call, respectively.
But otherwise, that was one heck of a round for the Buckeyes!!

Very impressed with Mendez wrestling and conditioning. Let's see tomorrow if he can avenge his loss to #4 McGee.
