Big fan. Takedowns comprise the most difficult set of techniques and also provide the best action. No more will we see comebacks based on escapes and penalty points. You can come back with your own takedowns if you're able.

It is quite impressive how quickly the score totals rise with the 3pt TD. I was at the CSU/ISU dual and the 285 match finished at 26-10. CSU got the first TD3 and from there, it was on! I think the first period end 14-6. (I could be wrong on that score.)

Blink, and the scoreboard will pass you by!

Speaking only for myself, I always thought the risk/reward for a TD vs escape was out of wack. After all, guys willingly give away an escape but I don't think I have ever seen a wrestler give up a TD.

I wonder if the rules folks will address reversals sometime soon?

OTOH, I am not a fan of the 4 point NF. IMO, it widens the gap in scoring far too fast and makes comebacks off a 6 point TD and NF almost impossible.

I suppose there is nothing that will please everyone.

With the 3 pt TD, perhaps we no longer need a 4 pt nearfall?

Reversals for 2 points make more sense to me than increasing them to 3.

Interesting dynamic for in-match strategy as well. The Bouzakis loss yesterday a perfect example. Gave up two 1st period TDs and it's 6-1. Tough hill to climb.

Just wondering what your logic might be?

BTW, I am not saying that increasing is good or bad, just wondering why you don't value them equally?

Because Takedowns and reversals are not equivalent skill sets?

I just see TD's as the most important aspect of wrestling.
