A bit of a drop this year across the board especially in the smaller school divisions. The St. Paris Grahams and Troy Christians of the world are making their presence felt, though this hasn't translated to Ohio's overall college performance yet, where Greater Cleveland still rules the roost.

These numbers tell exactly what I knew when I was competing in the mid 90's. If you want to overtake the schools "up north" you needed to get up there and wrestle with them and learn what makes them so good. My only gripe with the scheduling my AD did for our wrestling team was he never really got us up to the Cleveland area to wrestle. Guys would go through the season thinking they are good then run into real talent from up north at the state tournament. I had solid seasons my junior and senior years, but the guy who kept me from placing at state my junior year was from Ravenna and the guy who won it my senior year was from Olmsted Falls. Coincidence?... obviously not.
