Per OSU site:
125-#22 Brendan McCrone (R-Fr) vs Tristan Lujan (Sr.)
133-#10 Nic Bouzakis (R-Fr.) vs Andy Hampton (R-So.)
141-#3 Jesse Mendez (So.) vs Jordan Hamdan (R-Sr.)
149-#10 Dylan D'Emilio (R-Sr.) vs Braden Stauffenberg (R-Fr.)
157-Isaac Wilcox (Sr.) vs #20 Chase Saldate (Sr.)
or Gavin Brown (R-Fr.)
165-#19 Bryce Hepner (R-Jr.) vs #9 Caleb Fish (Sr.)
174-#11 Rocco Welsh (Fr.) vs DJ Shannon (R-Sr.)
184-#23 Ryder Rogotzke (Fr.) vs #15 Layne Malczewski (Gr.)
197-Seth Shumate (R-Fr.) vs Kael Wisler (R-Fr.)
285-#7 Nick Feldman (R-Fr.) vs Josh Terrill (R-Fr.)

Shumate back to 197? Wonder if Geog is sick/injured? He looked lethargic in his last match against an unranked guy.

Geog is a big boy and the cut may be difficult.

That's not good for a RS Freshman with a logjam at 285 once Neves arrives.

I thought he was enormous at 84 but he seems normal size for a 97.

The Hepner-Fish bout should be interesting since they have similar styles.

This is just going off of my memory, so forgive me if i'm wrong, but i feel like Geog has wrestled a lot of matches this year, perhaps they just want to rest him up a little leading into B1Gs.

McCrone’s match was frustrating to watch. Very defensive, and resorted to the same style of match that occurred on the backside of the Michigan State open. He gets it done, with an overtime positional battle, but very easily could have, and probably should have been hit for stalling a second time. Lujan has had some tight bouts this year, and is a volume shooter, but Brandon has got to get to his offense more. Especially in the post season.
Everything else goes according to script, with the Bucks mauling most of the Spartans they come up against. Rogo decks another ranked upper class man in typical Rogo fashion. The old reach back whip over to a head lock decks him. This dude is going to give someone a heart attack on the back side. He will likely screw up someone’s bracket during Fridays NCAA session. I’m curious if he has hit automatic qualifier minimums for the tournament.

Jared: I rarely disagree with you as your observations are typically razor sharp. But I think any win for McCrone in the BT is outstanding. No one went into this season expecting him to have this type of success.

Bucks have always struggled to develop 125's. Now they have Kilkeary and Mccrone both of whom show nice potential and could become future AA's...maybe multiple.

Ryder Rogotzke is one of my favorite wrestlers this year.

Watched his match 3 times. He has a wide variety of threats.

Body lock position, High C, Assassin, Low single, Half Nelson (would've pinned Malcejewski at the end of 1st period with more time) Hip whip Neck wrench variation of Assassin.

There is a lot to digest and unravel from his wrestling.

He wrestles like the biddy kid who totally commits to a move and puts his will and force into it but at the same time uses the technical expertise and athleticism of a wrestler that has competed for a lifetime.

The system hasn't turned him into wrestling drone that wrestles purely conventional.

And for that I salute you. One in a million. Kind of like Robert Sessley but in a different way.

I would've loved to wrestle a style similar to this but learned through negative reinforcement loops that it was unsustainable.

The thing is that my interpretation was wrong.

He's cleared the bar for others to look at and say you know what, I can wrestle from some of these positions or others and totally own them.

It's not remotely true to say that what he did to Truax was a fluke. Wrong answer.

He created and wrestled a position which he is the best at. Period. Truax can take anyone down with his single leg attack. If he can wrestle from his positions for seven minutes then he wins. If he lapses, all bets are off.

I'm taking all of the wrestling that I find interesting and posting to an Instagram account of rexholmanwrestler if anyone on this board is interested.

That being said Rocco Welsh hand fights like a senior. If Colt Sponseller had this skillset as a freshman, he would've been a four time All American. Rocco is the very definition of discipline. I love his wrestling too but for different reasons.
