No shoes left on the mat.
But if it is the end of his competitive days, I’m glad I got to witness it.

I’m glad he didn’t. Not in that environment, specifically at PSU. The crap getting yelled at him was ridiculous. I’d imagine there will be some sort of press conference or other type of announcement done in his own way. He’s been a champion on and off the mat unlike any others. Why should his retirement be any different

Jared is correct. Not the time or place.
Jordan should try to monetize the announcement, whatever that looks like.

Carter Starocci continues to talk crap. He is easily the least likable PSU wrestler in a very ling time. Will be glad when he leaves for MMA — which he said he was gonna do after winning the Olympics — which means he will never begin his MMA career — which sucks.

Cael wants him to come back and wrestle 197 next year. He said he is 60 percent coming back to do so. Penn state will throw him money to do so, he’s probably just working out how much they will pay him

Smart because 197 clears out. 74 has O'Toole, 84 has Keck. 97 is nobody.

I'm not a Bo Nickal fan either.
Myles....I wish you would have settled your hips and stayed low.

I don't see O'Toole or Keckeisen beating him but would love to be wrong.

Many of the PSU faithful are classless. Specifically the fan heckling JB after his loss. The comments made by CS and Bo Nickal were another example of PSU arrogance and "Us Against the World" attitude. JB has been an class act throughout his career. I really enjoyed watching his pursuit of greatness!

They probably won't get the chance with him jumping two weight classes. CS has won a ton of matches by 1-2 points vs lesser opponents.

I think that Penn State may already be set at 197 with PSU recruit Connor Mirasola coming to campus next year. High schooler Mirasola took down Brooks twice at the Trials (Brooks wasn't taken down all year during the college season)

That was mildly disturbing to watch. If I could I would insert the "he can't keep getting away with this" meme here.
Anyway, if they can redshirt Mirasola and wrestle Starocci this year at 197 that likely gives them 5 straight years of title contention at the weight. Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Starocci moving up to 197 was mentioned on FRL today, and Askren responded with excitement as it allows Mirasola to redshirt.

My little fantasy--Starocci has a great season, makes it to the finals and is poised to win his 5th title against a Nebraska wrestler. Sitting in the corner with Manning is Jordan Burroughs. There's a break in the action and no one is paying attention to Burroughs. Jordan breaks out the old "foreign object", stuns Starocci and he gets pinned.
Is that childish? Yeah....
How about the Nebraska wrestler pins Starocci and then he's forced to shake Burroughs hand after the match?
